<p>As the 2025–26 season rapidly approaches, we here at PGH want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on high school programs across the great state of Kansas. These articles will explore teams, coaches, players, and the conferences they compete in. In this edition, we turn our attention to the Piper Lady Pirates.</p>

<p>The Lady Pirates compete in the United Kansas Conference and finished last season with a 13-3 conference record, earning a second-place finish. Overall, they posted an 18-5 record in the 2024–25 season and are poised to continue their competitive success this year. The team is led by Coach Shane Stout, who is in his 14th year at the helm, bringing experience, leadership, and a proven track record of developing talent.</p>

<p><strong><em>Key Returners: </em></strong></p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='544018' first='Faith' last='McCallop'] - A senior point guard and UCA commit, Faith brings superior speed, exceptional athleticism, and an unmatched motor to the floor. Her high basketball IQ is evident in every aspect of her game. She's a true three-level scorer who takes advantage of every opportunity, while also excelling as a floor general—directing the offense, facilitating for others, and keeping her team composed. Defensively, Faith is relentless. Her lateral quickness, active hands, and competitive edge make her a constant problem for opposing guards. She is the total package at the point guard position.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='932934' first='Brylee' last='Gerber'] - A junior forward, she is a strong and reliable rebounder on both ends of the floor and consistently finishes well around the basket. Defensively, she is a solid post presence who excels at using her size and discipline to wall up and force opponents into difficult, contested shots—all without fouling. Her physicality, positioning, and effort make her an invaluable asset in the paint.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1323154' first='Giuliana' last='Benedetto'] - A sophomore combo guard, she possesses an excellent handle and uses her creativity to consistently create space off the dribble. Quick and athletic, she applies those strengths on both ends of the floor. She's a strong finisher around the basket with either hand, and her ability to draw defenders opens up opportunities for her teammates—showcasing her vision and playmaking instincts. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1249363' first='Reniah' last='Hollinshed'] - A versatile sophomore forward, Reniah brings a dynamic inside-out skill set to the floor. Last season, she provided strong post presence off the bench, and this year she has expanded her game—putting the ball on the floor, pulling up confidently off the dribble, and getting downhill for finishes at the rim. Defensively, Hollinshed is a reliable presence who contests shots effectively and uses her length and timing to block and disrupt opponents. Her growth and versatility make her a key contributor on both ends of the court.</p>

<p><strong>Angie Walker</strong> - A junior guard who transferred from Leavenworth High School, Angie adds valuable depth to the Pirates' backcourt. She demonstrates the ability to score from the perimeter as well as attack the basket, making her a versatile offensive threat. Her skill set provides the team with added flexibility and options at the guard position.</p>
