Here we are, just two weeks into the high school basketball season, and the 2025-26 campaign is already off to a record-breaking start. This week not one, not two but three elite players reached the 2,000-career points milestone. That remarkable accomplishment seems like a good place to begin our recap of the Week That Was No. 2.

Reaching 2,000 points is rare. Most who do it come from small-school programs, where Division I-bound scorers can put up numbers against less depth and athleticism. That's not a knock – just reality. In this group, two of the three record-setters scored most of their points against big-school opponents.

Congratulations to seniors [player_tooltip player_id='502561' first='Marta' last='Forsline'] (Mesabi East), [player_tooltip player_id='515676' first='Samantha' last='Voll'] (Monticello), and [player_tooltip player_id='471360' first='Mya' last='Moore'] (Orono), who each joined the 2,000-point club during Week 2. All three are high-major commits who capped terrific final AAU summers with equally strong starts to their final varsity seasons.

Moore reached her milestone Saturday night with a signature performance in a 69–56 win over DeLaSalle at the Pat Patterson Tournament in Hamline's historic Hutton Arena. The Creighton commit, who played AAU for [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'], went 11-for-12 at the free throw line, finishing with 33 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Ranked #5 among Minnesota seniors, Moore continues to demonstrate why she's an elite floor general – slippery off the dribble, unselfish in the half-court, relentless defensively.

Forsline, a multi-dimensional 6'3 post player, has elevated her game in every way since last spring. Playing with the [program_tooltip program_id='712700' first='Minnesota' last='Suns'] in AAU, she improved steadily until the Division I offers came in, ultimately committing to the University of California at Davis. Ranked 17th in the Class of 2026, Forsline opened her final campaign with 41 points against Cherry and 20 more versus Mountain Iron-Buhl, surpassing 2,000 career points. Last year she topped 1,000 career rebounds. Now that's rare!

Voll also made headlines during week 2. The St. Thomas commit scored her 2,000th point midway through the second half against Elk River earlier in the week, then added a 34-point outburst in an 84–81 overtime win over Chanhassen on Saturday to become Monticello's all-time leading scorer. The [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] guard surpassed 2014 graduate Grace Sawatzke for the record. Through three games, the 16th-ranked Voll is averaging 23 points, 7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.

More Milestones

Two more standouts joined the 1,000-point club last week:

[player_tooltip player_id='565312' first='Ari' last='Peterson'] (Minnetonka) – The sophomore scored 26 in Friday's win over Orono, crossing the 1,000-point threshold. Ranked #2 in the Class of 2028, Peterson has led the Skippers to a 4–0 start while averaging a team-best 18 points per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='502586' first='Maria' last='Radabaugh'] (Totino-Grace) – The Concordia–St. Paul commit reached 1,000 points during the Twin Cities Thanksgiving Tipoff at White Bear Lake. The lightning-quick senior posted a 35-point, 10-steal double-double against Mayer Lutheran after a 23-point, eight-rebound performance the day before. She's ranked #32 in the Class of 2026.

Goodman Was Perfect

Eastview has been one of the most impressive teams so far, opening with wins over St. Michael-Albertville and Rochester Mayo, plus a narrow loss to Maple Grove. But the game everyone was talking about last week was the 92–91 loss to Providence Academy, where senior [player_tooltip player_id='502569' first='Clara' last='Goodman'] quietly made history.

Goodman went 20-for-20 from the free-throw line, setting a new state record for single-game perfection. She also shot 8-for-15 from the field, finishing with 39 points – one more than [player_tooltip player_id='252381' first='Maddyn' last='Greenway'] on the night. The previous record, 19-for-19, belonged to Rebekah Dahlman (2012), who graduated as the state's all-time leading scorer. Goodman's flawless performance now adds her name to that record book. Dahlman's career scoring mark is also in jeopardy as both Greenway and [player_tooltip player_id='205310' first='Tori' last='Oehrlein'] (Crosby-Ironton) are on pace to set a new standard.

Team of the Week: Waconia Wildcats

Coach Dusty Neibauer and his Waconia squad are off to an excellent start at 4-0. After wins over Farmington, Owatonna, and Two Rivers, the Wildcats delivered a big-time statement with a 71–66 overtime win over Class 4A Top 10 St. Michael-Albertville.

Trailing by 13 at halftime, Waconia completely reversed the game's momentum behind seniors [player_tooltip player_id='773415' first='Emma' last='Hanson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1194442' first='Audrey' last='Brown']. STMA's length and athleticism, led by Colorado commit [player_tooltip player_id='344333' first='Cail' last='Jahnke'], had frustrated them early, but the Wildcats regrouped and attacked relentlessly in the second half.

Key defensive stops, steals, and blocks helped Waconia chip away at the Knights' lead. Down two with eight seconds remaining, Hanson drove the lane and slipped a bounce pass between defenders to Emersyn Colby, who finished at the buzzer to force overtime. Waconia then made all six of its free throws in the extra period to seal the win. Brown finished with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Hanson produced a sensational line: 16 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 4 steals, and 6 blocks. [player_tooltip player_id='717676' first='Addison' last='Bryfczynski'] added 18 points and 8 boards, and Colby scored 12.

Waconia went 8–18 last season, 25–55 over the previous three years combined. Neibauer couldn't recall the last time Waconia beat STMA – if ever. “We were hoping the team would show some grit this year,” he said. “This was a huge step in the right direction.”
