This game recap uses rankings from the Top 12 in 5A by Nicole Prose.

The 5A No. 8 Lebanon Warriors squeaked out a 54-50 Mid-Willamette Conference road win against the 5A No. 12 Crescent Valley Raiders on Tuesday night.

After trailing through all of the first quarter, the Raiders took the lead in the second, weathered a Warriors' comeback attempt in the third, and led by as many as 9 points early in the fourth. But Lebanon fought back late in the final frame to regain the lead and hold on to win.

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1229064' first='Piper' last='Sewell'] and senior [player_tooltip player_id='502361' first='Peyton' last='Vorderstrasse'] led the Warriors in scoring with 15 points apiece.

Sewell added 9 rebounds, all offensive, 3 assists, and 2 steals. The small point guard was a plus rebounder, cleaning up the offensive glass for second-chance points, including a putback of her own. She netted 5-of-6 bonus free throws late in the fourth quarter to secure the win for Lebanon.

Vorderstrasse had an efficient shooting hand in the opening frame, knocking down three jump shots, all assisted, including two from three-point range, netting 8 of the Warriors' 14 first-quarter points.

Lebanon started the game with a slow-paced 10-2 run and led Crescent Valley by 6 points after the first quarter.

Crescent Valley responded and went on a 17-4 run to close out the second quarter with a 5-point lead (28-23).

Senior shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='841858' first='Josie' last='Mansfield'] and 5-foot-11 sophomore power forward Saylor Zimmerman led the charge in the second frame with 8 points apiece. Mansfield knocked down two three-pointers, and Zimmerman finished strong in the paint.

Mansfield led all scorers in the game with 22 points, 6 three-pointers made, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Zimmerman's final tally was 11 points and 4 rebounds.

Lebanon leveled things (31-31) in the third quarter, behind a Brooklynn Hensley perimeter drive and scoop layup. The Sophomore was a spark off the bench for the Warriors, and finished the game with 6 points and 4 steals.

But Mansfield put a stop to Lebanon's momentum the next time down with a left dribble step pull-up three-pointer, the second of four threes she knocked down in the third frame alone.

Late in the period, Vorderstrasse finished a strong drive through contact, drew a foul, and converted the free throw for the three-point play, getting Lebanon back within 2 points.

But Mansfield connected from three again, this time from the corner to beat the third-quarter buzzer and put her team back up by 5 points (42-37) going into the fourth.

The fourth quarter started as a defensive battle, but Lebanon chipped away slowly at Crescent Valley's lead and went on an 11-2 run to go ahead by 2 points with 1:55 remaining in the game.

Junior power forward [player_tooltip player_id='832069' first='Hazel' last='Pepperling'] stepped up with a big three-point play to level things 46-46. She snatched the ball from the defensive rebounder, who fell to the ground from the force, and drew the foul as she tripped over the body on the floor on her way to the basket.

Pepperling finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks for the Warriors.

Hensley followed up with the go-ahead fastbreak layup after hunting a perimeter pass. Later, Pepperling drew a bonus foul on a pass inside and hit 1-of-2 at the line to put the Warriors up by 3 points.

Crescent Valley never gave up.

With 45 seconds remaining, Mansfield stole the ball, drew a bonus foul, and knocked down both free throws to put the Raiders within 1 point.

Lebanon's Sewell knocked down 4-of-4 bonus free throws on back-to-back trips to the line to give the Warriors a two-possession lead.

With 12.9 seconds left, Crescent Valley's Alejandra Garcia Coelho finished a strong drive to the basket through contact. The ball rolled around the rim and in, putting the Raiders within 3 points.

But with 7.4 seconds remaining, Sewell iced the game, knocking down 1 more bonus free throw, putting the Warriors up four points and out of reach.

Both teams continue Mid-Wilamette Conference play on Friday. Lebanon (11-4, 5-2) hosts South Albany, and Crescent Valley (7-9, 3-4) goes to Central.
