<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With teams punching their tickets to the state tournament, here is how the district 1 tournaments played out in every class. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Class 4A District 1/2 Tournament:</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the 4A district 1/2 tournament, 12 teams are battling it out for 7 spots at the state tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The first round was all loser out games, with most of the higher seeds winning their games except Redmond. The 10th seed knocked off Issaquah, 56-40 to advance. The 2nd round is where double elimination play begins. #5 Lake Washington beat #4 Glacier Peak in dominating fashion, 71-39. #10 Redmond kept their winning ways going as well by defeating #2 seeded Lake Stevens, 68-64. #3 Woodinville would beat #9 Eastlake, 75-62. #1 Bothell took care of #9 Mount Si, 50-35. The winners of these 4 games will advance to the semi-final round &amp; also punch their ticket to the state tournament. The losers of those games will play in big loser-out games from now on.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the semi final games, #3 Woodinville beat #10 Redmond, 71-49 to advance to the district championship game. #5 Lake Washington would upset top seeded Bothell, 58-54 to advance to the championship game as well. Redmond &amp; Bothell will both be headed to state. For the district championship game, #5 Lake Washington took on #3 Woodinville. Woodinville would get the win, 62-46 to claim the district championship but both teams will head to state.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the loser-out round, #2 Lake Stevens bounced back and got the win over #4 Glacier Peak, 54-40 to keep their season alive but end Glacier Peak's. #6 Eastlake beat #9 Mount Si, 64-51 to advance one more game. Mount Si would be eliminated. Now #2 Lake Stevens will face #6 Eastlake in a winner-to-state game with the loser having their season end. Lake Stevens would win, 80-71, to keep their season alive &amp; Eastlake will be sent home.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Teams to state</em></strong>: Lake Washington, Woodinville, Redmond, Bothell, Lake Stevens</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Class 3A District 1 Tournament</em></strong>:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This tournament featured 12 teams fighting it out for 4 spots at the state tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the loser-out games for round 1, #10 seeded Ferndale was the only higher seed to take the win, upsetting #7 Everett with a last second buzzer beater. #5 Mount Vernon, #6 Shorecrest, &amp; #8 Sedro-Woolley would advance. Monroe, Everett, Shorewood, and Mountlake Terrace saw their seasons end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the 2nd round, the double elimination kicks in, meaning with a loss teams will not be out of it just yet. #3 Stanwood defeated #6 Shorecrest, 69-37. #2 Edmonds Woodway beat #10 Ferndale, 68-38. #4 Meadowdale would beat #5 Mount Vernon, 68-61. #1 Snohomish would beat #8 Sedro Woolley, 62-27.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The semi-final round consisted of all the top 4 teams from the tournament. #1 Snohomish would beat #4 Meadowdale, 47-36 to send themselves to the district championship game and to the state tournament regardless of the result for the championship game. Meadowdale would get another chance in the loser-out part of the tournament. #2 Edmonds Woodway would beat #3 Stanwood, 55-47 to secure their spot in the district championship and the state tournament regardless. Stanwood would get another shot in the loser out part of this tournament. For the district championship, we had #1 Snohomish face off against #2 Edmonds Woodway. These teams in this game will head to state no matter what.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the double elimination part of the bracket, #6 Shorecrest beat #10 Ferndale, 90-69 to keep their season alive and end Ferndale's. #5 Mount Vernon would beat #8 seeded Sedro-Woolley to advance. Now those 2 teams matchup with the losers in the semi final round. #3 Stanwood took on #5 Mount Vernon, with Stanwood winning, 46-37 to advance to state. #4 Meadowdale took on #6 Shorecrest, Meadowdale would win, 62-39 to advance to state while Shorecrest saw their season end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>Teams to state</strong></em>: Snohomish, Edmonds Woodway, Stanwood &amp; Meadowdale </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Class 2A District 1 Tournament</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the class 2A district 1 tournament, 10 teams were striving for just 2 guaranteed spots at state and 1 spot to play in a district 1/5 crossover for another shot at the state tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The tournament began with a play-in game that between Marysville Pilchuck and Bellingham, which Bellingham easily took care of. The next round of games would start the double-elimination part of this bracket already. Archbishop-Murphy would destroy Anacortes, 76-18 to advance. Squalicum took on Burlington-Edison, getting the win 56-44. Sehome would beat Lakewood, 53-40 to advance. Lynden took care of Bellingham, 67-13. In the loser out section of the bracket, Anacortes beat Burlington-Edison, 53-48 to keep their season live. Burlington-Edison would be eliminated. Lakewood beat Bellingham, 51-38 to advance and eliminate the Bayhawks. In the semi final round, Lynden beat Sehome, 64-20 to advance to the district championship game. Sehome would go to the loser out section of the bracket. Archbishop-Murphy beat Squalicum, 63-25 to advance to the district championship game. Squalicum will go to the loser out section of the bracket. Back to the loser out part of the bracket, Anacortes defeated Sehome, 55-50 to advance and eliminate Sehome. Squalicum would beat Lakewood, 56-42 to keep their season alive. Squalicum would then face Anacortes with the winner advancing to the first ever District 1/5 crossover game. The Storm would win, 51-36 to eliminate Anacortes.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the district championship game, Lynden defeated Archbishop Murphy, 58-40 to win the district championship but both teams will advance to state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the district 1/5 crossover game, Squalicum took on Selah, another top 10 2A team in the state. Selah would win, 61-39. You can read the game recap here:&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Teams to state</em></strong>: Lynden &amp; Archbishop-Murphy</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Class 1A District 1 Tournament </em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the class 1A district 1 tournament, it started with a loser out game between Blaine and Meridian. Meridian would win, 44-34 to advance forward and Blaine would be eliminated.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lynden Christian beat Meridian, 66-28 to advance to the district championship game and Meridian will go to the loser out part of the tournament. Nooksack Valley would beat Mount Baker, 56-47 to advance to the district championship game. Mount Baker would go to the loser out part of the tournament. Mount Baker would beat Meridian on a game winning layup, 46-44 to keep their season alive.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the district championship game, Lynden Christian took care of Nooksack Valley, 58-27 to advance to the state tournament. Nooksack Valley would then face, and defeat, Mount Baker to earn their spot and eliminate Mount Baker.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Teams to state</em></strong>: Lynden Christian &amp; Nooksack Valley</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
