Get to Know These 2029 Players in our Rankings

We dropped our 2029 rankings earlier this week and you'll hear much about our top two -- Kinley Ford and Mia McKenzie -- as the spring and summer (and years) go on, but who are some other players that should be on your radar. We break down five here and will do some more as the summer season moves along.    With all respect to Ford and McKenzie, Garner's freshman season for Kearney coach Drew Danielson may have been the most impressive in the state of Nebraska. She lead Kearney with a nearly 17 points per game average and we personally saw her in big games against Gothenburg and Omaha Marian take over in spots. She has the ability to be an elite defender as well and her quickness on both ends of the floor is evident. An excellent shooter as well who can knock down the long range shot (made 50 3s on the season); she was also a 73% free throw shooter. We think Division I offers will be in the cards for Garner.     There was a saying that went around the state this year that the only time Bennington lost during their 28-0 Class B state championship season was in practice against their freshman. Indeed, you'll see five of them ranked here in our 2029 rankings spearheaded by Gargano who scored 131 points and grabbed 87 rebounds during her freshman campaign. A standout in weekend one for ETG, she averaged 7.3 points and 3.5 rebounds. An elite athlete, Gargano has already set the Bennington High School long jump record this spring. She should be on nearly everyone's radar as the spring and summer progress.     Daugherty made an impact off the bench for the Class A state champions Lincoln North Star scoring 88 points, grabbing 61 rebounds and dishing out 29 assists. She has moved up this summer playing on the Nebraska Attack 16U team where she had an excellent first weekend averaging just over seven points and six rebounds in Pennsylvania. Daugherty is a physical post who should grow even more of the next few years. She is one of three Gator freshmen ranked in our 2029 class as they look to build on the first state title in school history.     Playing in Class D-1 at Weeping Water, Huskey solidified herself as an elite scorer at 20.2 points per game in a season that saw her Indian team advance to the district final round before losing to Maywood-Hayes Center. Huskey is a scorer at all three levels. She made 30 3-point baskets and got to the line 215 times while connecting at a 73% clip. Huskey scored 37 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out nine assists in Attack's first five games on the UAA circuit in Pennsylvania.     The Nebraska Supreme group has started off 8-0 on the Puma circuit and this team will continue to be one to watch as the summer goes along. One of their leading players is Duzik -- a cousin to top Malcolm athletes Halle and Payton Dolliver -- who is an elite defender and ball handler. Duzik's role for the state finalist Clippers continued to increase as the season moved along as she scored 154 points, grabbed 50 rebounds and added 28 assists on the season. Coaches love Duzik's motor and willingness to make plays that aren't on the stat sheet.
