Grassroots Team Spotlight on the Missouri Phenom 15U EYC

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops Missouri was in Columbia over the weekend to attend the Battleground in the Zou event, which was put on by the [program_tooltip program_id='712694' first='Missouri' last='Phenom']. One of the top teams that I watched was the [program_tooltip program_id='712694' first='Missouri' last='Phenom'] 15U EYC squad, which won the championship in the 16U division. This team is made up of Class of 2029 players who played up at the 15U EYC level last season as eighth-graders.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here are some evals on the members of the Phenom 15U EYC team after watching them over the weekend..</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1243152' first='Charley' last='Burks']: A 5'4" point guard from Jefferson City who is dynamic with her speed and quickness on the court. She scored on a few coast to coast drives in the open court and she can also shoot it from 3-point range. She was also making it happen on the defensive end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='921823' first='Bella' last='Campbell']: A 5'11" forward from Rolla who was one of the most physical players that I watched during the weekend. She is tough to handle in the low post, but she can also handle the ball and pass it like a guard. She can also step out and hit an open 3-pointer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Reese Coller: A 5'10" forward from Osage who can really maneuver around the basket for buckets. Her footwork is excellent as she can score on a variety of moves, including drop steps, spin moves and up and unders. She also makes good uses of pump fakes in the lanes. Her fundamentals are excellent.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1243148' first='Anna' last='Dick']: A 5'5" point guard from Class 2 state champion Tipton who make make open perimeter shots while also playing a strong overall floor game. She is a good ball handler who can distribute the basketball well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1303894' first='Kristina' last='Margraf']: A 5'4" point guard from Ladue who has excellent speed and quickness. Her overall floor game is very good as she sees the court and distributes the ball well. She can also knock down open 3-pointers. She also defends with tenacity with on-ball pressure.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Aubrey Meyer: A 6'0 forward from Iowa City who's one of the top 2029 prospects in that state. She has a nice skill set to go with her height. She has good handles and she can create off the dribble with a cross-over move. She's very mobile with her ability to run the court in transition </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='950820' first='Brynn' last='Shahan']: A 5'7" guard from Kirksville who is physically tough with a nice offensive bag off the dribble. She can power her way into the lane for a bucket or she can break down a defender with a nice spin dribble or another escape move.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1261957' first='Blakely' last='Sowers']: A 6'0" forward from Centralia who operates well in the low post with her height and physicality. She seals well and scores with a strong drop step in the lane. She is also a capable ball handler and passer on the perimeter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='999531' first='London' last='Stemmons']: A talented and athletic 5'10" guard from Hickman who is a big matchup problem for opposing defenses. She is an excellent ball handler who can pass it and shoot it form 3-point range. When she was defended by a smaller guard, she went right into the low post and put in work around the basket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kiersten Tebockhurst: A 5'7 point guard from Iowa who brings more speed and quickness to the team. Her speed enables her to impact play at both ends of the court. She pushes the tempo well in the open court. She can also knock down an open jumper.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1243150' first='Avery' last='Walker']: A 5'10 forward from Rock Bridge who is an excellent athlete with a versatile skill set.
