The WK Sports March Madness Classic, Standouts pt 2

Well over 100 teams from many states came to  Bowling Green to play with 10 courts under one roof and it was full ENERGY.    It was one of the best run events I have been around in every way! We would highly recommend their tournaments going forward.    Derfra Holt shared, "Our events have afforded us the opportunity to meet so many nice people that we would have never met if not for our tournament."   And Kris Fields wanted to make sure we knew, “We are already planning our Bluegrass March Madness 2027 on March 27-28! Our Tournaments are always more than just basketball!! Basketball & Fellowship Always!”    Jayla plays the game with a nonstop motor that immediately jumps out. She has the ability to score in multiple ways, whether it's attacking the basket or capitalizing on opportunities within the flow of the offense. What truly separated her this weekend, though, was her defensive presence. Jayla embraces the role of a defensive specialist, using her strength, athleticism, and toughness to make life difficult for opposing players. She consistently applied pressure, forced mistakes, and showed a willingness to do whatever it takes to get stops. Her mindset and effort on that end make her a difference-maker every time she steps on the floor.     Lexie was electric from start to finish and made her presence felt in every game she played. She was lights out from beyond the arc, confidently knocking down deep shots and stretching defenses with her range. What made her performance even more impressive was her ability to pick her spots, scoring efficiently not just from three, but also attacking the rim and pulling up in the midrange. On top of her scoring ability, Lexie flipped the switch defensively when needed, turning up the pressure and creating chaos for opposing ball handlers. Her ability to generate turnovers and convert them into offense made her one of the most impactful players of the weekend.     Reece England delivered in big moments all weekend long, consistently stepping up and knocking down clutch shots when her team needed them most. Her shooting range is a major weapon, forcing defenses to extend and opening up the floor for her teammates. As a true three-point sniper, Reece brings valuable spacing that elevates her entire team's offensive flow. Her confidence and shot-making ability make her a constant threat, and it's clear she has a very bright future ahead as she continues to develop.     Nanalee energy was unmatched throughout the tournament, and she impacted the game in just about every way possible. A true “Swiss Army knife,” she filled up the stat sheet by scoring at all three levels, including knocking down big shots from deep. Beyond her scoring, Nanalee was a force on the glass, consistently battling for rebounds and creating extra possessions. Defensively, she was relentless, applying pressure and disrupting opposing offenses all weekend long. Her versatility, effort, and intensity make her an invaluable piece on both ends of the floor.     Darcy is the type of player every team needs. While she may not always lead the scoring column, her impact on the game is undeniable. She plays with a high motor and brings consistent energy every time she's on the court. Darcy excels as both an on-ball and off-ball defender, using her awareness and effort to shut down opportunities before they develop. Her hustle, toughness, and willingness to do the little things make her a key contributor who helps her team win in ways that don't always show up on the stat sheet.     Makinley showcases advanced court vision well beyond her years, making her a true playmaker on the floor. She doesn't just pass to teammates, she creates quality opportunities by delivering the ball exactly where it needs to be for them to score. Offensively, she's a major threat, capable of knocking down threes both off the catch and off the dribble. Averaging over three made threes per game in the tournament, she proved just how dangerous she can be from deep. Makinley is already a three-level scorer, and when you combine that with her athleticism and defensive impact, she becomes a complete player who influences the game in multiple ways.     Carli brings a unique skill set as a stretch four, giving her team versatility and matchup advantages. She has strong footwork and finishes well around the basket, showing touch and control in the paint. In pick-and-roll situations, she's effective as both a finisher and decision-maker, but what really sets her apart is her ability to step out and knock down shots. Her pick-and-pop game forces defenders to respect her range, opening up the floor and creating spacing. Carli's combination of size, skill, and shooting ability makes her a tough matchup for any defense.     Mariah is the definition of a versatile playmaker who finds ways to impact the game across the board. Whether it's hitting a timely shot, crashing the boards for a key rebound, or making hustle plays, she consistently contributes in winning ways. Her high motor stands out and fuels her team, bringing energy that's contagious to those around her. Mariah's ability to do a little bit of everything makes her a valuable asset, and her presence on the court is felt in every phase of the game.     Ari brings a strong, physical presence every time she steps on the floor. With her size and strength, she plays through contact with confidence, finishing tough shots around the rim even in traffic. She doesn't shy away from defenders, instead, she embraces the physicality and turns it into an advantage.   What really makes Ari stand out is her versatility. Not only can she dominate inside, but she also has the ability to handle the basketball and push the pace when needed. That combination of strength and skill makes her a tough matchup, as she can impact the game in multiple ways and keep defenders guessing.
