Duel For the Dynasty 2026: 13U/14U Honorable Mention

At Prep Girls Hoops, we strive to cover as many teams and players as possible, though juggling overlapping schedules and multiple days remains a challenge. I want to make sure I acknowledge the standout players and teams who deserve recognition, even if they didn't land in one of my featured articles earlier this week. Lastly, I'm not quite sure how I ended up at a 6th-grade game, but I'm glad I did—there are two young standouts, one 5th grader and one 6th grader, who are definitely going to make some noise on the circuit as they continue to develop.   Nike Pro Skills, EYBL 13U: Those girls are absolute ballers—their only loss was to AB Elite in the championship. The only reason they haven't been featured in any player profiles is the lack of a submitted roster. Prep Girls Hoops scouts move fast at these tournaments, so they rely entirely on those rosters to identify talent and get write-ups published.   iChi Dragons 14U:  These young ladies went 4-0 this weekend, and their flawless record proves they're doing big things. Even though I didn't catch any of their games during my second weekend scouting for Prep Girls Hoops, I'm implementing a new system to ensure I can cover more teams while maintaining the high-quality write-ups that our players earn and deserve.    Even as a sixth grader, Khar'Lynn has serious game and an uncanny ability to finish at the rim. She is a powerhouse in the paint and a reliable rim protector.  She is also a relentless rebounder on both ends of the floor. Most impressive, however, is her defensive instinct; she can strip the ball and take it coast-to-coast for the score. While she spent most of her time in the post, her guard-like ball-handling and playmaking skills are clear and will be invaluable as she continues to develop as a basketball player.       Kendyl is a 5th grader with great upside as she develops into a premier point guard. She attacks the basket with ease and is a disruptive force on defense with multiple steals.  However, her elite-court vision truly sets her apart. Watching her find teammates in tight windows was the highlight of the game for me; that level of situational awareness at her age is a rare asset that will only get better as she matures.       Zoe was a key piece of Team Kidd's "Buzzsaw," helping her team slice up their opponent to get the win. She provided a major spark in the first half by knocking down two 3-pointers, and her disciplined team defense helped her team dismantle the opponent for a blowout win.       Londynn was a force in transition, finishing strong at the basket on multiple fast-breaks. She rebounded very well on both ends of the court. Most impressively, her defensive pressure forced several steals that she immediately converted into easy buckets for her team.       Her ball-handling skills make her incredibly versatile, as she can fluidly switch between guard positions. She is a scoring threat with a polished midrange jumper and the vision to find lanes to the basket, finishing with 9 points.
