PGH MI State Showcase: Team 3 Evaluations

The Prep Girls Hoops Michigan State Showcase featured a talented group of 2027-2030 prospects competing in skill development sessions and live 5-on-5 action. My coverage focused mainly on Team 2 and Team 3, where I had the chance to evaluate every player on the roster. Here are my observations from Team 3.    Taylor was one of the top performers at the PGH MI State Showcase and consistently made an impact on both ends of the floor for Team 3. She proved to be a high-level perimeter shooter, knocking down multiple shots from beyond the arc with confidence and consistency throughout the event. Taylor has the ability to heat up quickly and showed a smooth, reliable shooting stroke every time she stepped into a shot. Defensively, she stayed active with strong hands and anticipation, coming away with several steals that helped create transition opportunities. She also showed the ability to attack off the bounce, beating defenders off the dribble and getting all the way to the basket for finishes at the rim. Taylor's shooting ability, defensive activity, and offensive versatility made her one of the standout guards from Team 3.     Aaliyah was one of the top performers for Team 3 at the PGH MI State Showcase and showcased her athleticism and versatility throughout the event. She scored the ball with confidence and made difficult finishes look easy thanks to her balance and body control around the rim. Aaliyah attacked gaps in the defense effectively and consistently found ways to create offense off the dribble. One of her standout plays came on a strong baseline drive where she delivered a sharp one-handed pass to the corner, showing excellent court vision and playmaking ability. Along with her scoring, she proved to be a very capable passer who created quality opportunities for her teammates all night long.     Haley put together a solid all-around performance for Team 3 at the PGH MI State Showcase. She did a great job pushing the pace in transition while keeping her eyes up and looking to create for teammates. Her court vision stood out as she delivered several quality passes that helped generate scoring opportunities. Haley also knocked down a corner three and showed toughness offensively by playing through contact and finishing strong on drives. Defensively, she stayed active and disruptive, coming away with a couple of steals during the event. Her combination of playmaking, effort, and composure made her a valuable contributor throughout the showcase.     Mallory brought nonstop energy and effort to the floor for Team 3 at the PGH MI State Showcase. She consistently made hustle plays, tracking down long rebounds and battling for extra possessions throughout the games. Her competitiveness stood out as she hit the floor multiple times diving for loose balls and doing the little things that helped her team. Offensively, Mallory knocked down a three from the wing and also showed the ability to push the ball in transition after securing a defensive rebound, taking it coast-to-coast for a strong play. She added another impressive finish on a hard slash to the basket, displaying toughness and aggressiveness attacking the rim.     Jazzy was one of the top performers for Team 3 at the PGH MI State Showcase and made her presence felt every time she stepped on the floor. She competed hard in the paint, consistently boxing out and doing an excellent job creating position before rebounds even came off the rim. Her physicality and effort on the glass allowed her to control possessions and battle for rebounds on both ends. Offensively, Jazzy used strong seals to establish deep post position and showcased polished footwork around the basket to create scoring opportunities. She also displayed toughness finishing through contact in traffic and converting difficult plays around the rim. Defensively, she added several blocks and anchored the interior with her activity and timing. Jazzy's motor, physical play, and effectiveness in the post made her one of the standout performers of the showcase.     Alexandria was one of the top performers for Team 3 at the PGH MI State Showcase and consistently attacked the game with confidence and aggression. She was very effective getting downhill, using quick moves and strong drives to put pressure on defenders and get to the basket. Her footwork around the rim stood out, allowing her to finish plays with control and efficiency in traffic. Alexandria also did a great job creating separation off the dribble, frequently blowing by defenders after sharp first moves and ball fakes. One of her standout plays came when she used a convincing hesitation and ball fake to beat her defender before attacking the lane for a strong finish opportunity. Along with her scoring ability, she contributed on the glass and battled hard for rebounds throughout the showcase.     Emylia brought strong effort and toughness to Team 3 at the PGH MI State Showcase. She competed hard on the defensive end throughout the event, staying active and doing the little things that helped her team. Her fundamentals stood out as she consistently made contact and boxed out effectively on rebounds. Offensively, Emylia stepped up and knocked down a three-pointer, showing confidence from the perimeter. Her energy, discipline, and willingness to do the dirty work made her a valuable contributor during the showcase.     sadora made several impactful hustle plays for Team 3 at the PGH MI State Showcase and showed good instincts in transition. She delivered a strong pass ahead on the break that helped create an easy scoring opportunity and consistently kept the pace moving offensively. Isadora also worked hard on the glass, coming away with multiple offensive rebounds and extending possessions for her team. Her effort running the floor stood out as well, as she sprinted the court hard in transition and was rewarded with a basket on the break.
