PGH Midwest Extravaganza: More Live Notes From Barrington

Here are some more notes that I took live and in person this weekend while watching competition at the 16U level at the PGH Midwest Extravaganza.   Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!   Maci Pack - 2029 - PG/SG - Region Rebels 16U   "A prospect that you can trust with the ball in their possession. She primarily moves between the top and the wing position against the zone so far. She has had a few solid shot attempts from deep off the catch and a nice finish at the bucket in transition. This might be one of those players you get the ball too regularly when they are in their bag. She moves effortlessly and helps her the workload for those around her on the court."   Madison Boehne - 2028 - F - Illinois Game Time 16U   "Boehne is a solid prospect. Someone that competes as a Forward and does what she is asked. She plays with high energy while always trying to make a constant impact in between the blocks. We have seen her work with her back to the basket the last two days and from within 12FT offensively. In both situations she knows what she is doing as she plays some calculated basketball for her squad."   Lexie Meyers - 2028 - PG - Team Compete 16U   "You could tell right from tip off that Lexie Meyers of Team Compete was going to be one of her team's main facilitators this weekend. Meyers started things off by creating off the dribble. She got into the teeth of the defense consistently in this game and found the open teammates around her when the defense decided to collapse. As a PG, this is an individual that is pass-first all day long. She makes spacing easier for those around her and she is a leader with her top-notch communication as well. Not to mention, she is a bucket offensively when she gets close to the rim."   Ruby Dudeck - 2028 - CG/SG - Region Rebels 16U   "Dudeck is one of those prospects that would be categorized as a Swiss-army knife type of hooper. She competes as the 2, 3, or 4, depending who else is on the floor with her and she has a great feel for the game. When her team has had to face a zone, she was moved into the middle position on the floor to help facilitate from the inside-out. When she is on the outside, she rotates the ball evenly while still looking for her spots to attack. Defensively, she can pick up the ball in the full court at the PG position or she can defend against a bigger Forward. All in all, there is a lot to like out of Dudeck because of the versatility she possesses right now."   Vanessa Villa - 2028 - CG - Illinois Dream 16U E40   "One of the hardest working Guards that I have seen at this event so far has been Vanessa Villa of Illinois Dream 16U. Villa plays the top of her team's zone and she is really smart when it comes to the X's and O's. Offensively, she knows her role and position. She knows what to do when and she competes with a good attitude even when things might not go her way. Defensively, she is quick to react. She has a great feel for when she should dig down and double compared to sticking onto her matchup."   Finley Jobst - 2027 - SG/PG - Illinois Game Time 16U   "We saw Finley Jobst get a bunch of open looks from deep over the last couple of days and when she has had ample time + space, she usually makes the attempt from distance. Jobst has also demonstrated that she can handle it a little bit while coming down the court. She isn't the most natural but she has better than average coordination, a great shooting stance and stroke, she can move around the Guard position at the moment, and she rebounds at a steady rate. When you combined that all together, you get a solid competitor and that's what we have here with Jobst."   Emma Uppena - 2028 - CG - Team Compete 16U   Great source of production on both offense and defense. She might not be the one to score 30 points a game but she still knows how to stuff the stat sheet across the board. We saw Uppena play the inside and outside the last few days. She seems to be at her best on the Wing with space but she can also cut into the middle and make some things happen. Defensively, she can wall up and go to work. She moves her feet really well and she doesn't foul often, demonstrating her discipline to anyone watching."
