Yerkovich stood out with her mixture of size and ability on Saturday morning. Offensively, she made great choices while attacking her defender at a consistent rate. She demonstrated she could shoot it from the outside, take it off the dribble, and finish in a number of ways at the rim with her soft touch. Defensively, she moved all over the floor, sticking in front of her matchup each time, no matter who it might have been. All in all, this was one of the best prospects we saw today at the 16U level to kick off this event. Her future potential is high with what she brings to the table. Now she just has to keep on working.

Sometimes you run into prospects that play bigger than their actual size. Sometimes some prospects are so strong and athletic that no matter what you do, it's tough to stop them. That's what we had happen with Rayven Brewer on Saturday for Chi Hoops Express 16U. Brewer was a bruiser down-low. Her team ran a bunch of sets for her to get the ball with position with her back to the basket and from there she made a bunch of buckets. She had moments where she went through contact and moments where she simply went over the defender in front of her. There is a lot to like about Brewer moving forward. If she continues to add to her overall game, watch out. She made a huge difference today and I'd expect the same thing tomorrow.

Natalie McGhee is an athletic CG with good wherewithal on the offensive end. She has a solid handle, she gets to the bucket with ease, she is shifty in her side to side motion once down-hill, and she is a willing passer to others once she is over-played. We saw McGhee have a few big buckets to secure their Saturday morning W. It was certainly a team effort till the very end but she did her thing.

Isabel Carlson had a really solid start to her weekend as her team's starting PG. She didn't do too much but just enough, if that makes sense. She got her team in order, she took opportunities when they presented themselves, she played really solid defense, and she didn't make stupid mistakes down the stretch of any of her team's contests so far. From a coaching perspective, this is one of those players you'd love to work with. She would be PG #1 in a lot of programs and we saw glimpses of that all day long.

The Indiana Prospects 16U program had a rough day against some top notch competition but someone that stood out for the group was Post - Lorelei Darling. Darling is listed at 5'9 but that doesn't seem correct. She plays much bigger than that and had a good size advantage most of the morning. Whenever her team could feed her properly, she did a good job of converting with little to no trouble. She also showed that she can pass a little, rebound, and defend the lane. I said it on Twitter but this is someone who could have a system built around them down the line. As long as they keep on progressing as a competitor.
