I love seeing players comprehend the importance of selling themselves to college coaches because no matter what is written or shown in clips, live is the deal breaker. Opening games have historically been exciting for me, so when you catch players who "get it" I'm happy, and here ya go

Everett understands the importance of these events, and after playing a huge part in her high school squad winning back-to-back UIL 5A Division 1 state championships, seeing her on the court progression has been nice see evaluations here so she's more explosive off the dribble to score or dish, she's outrebounding taller players, and her pull-up jumper was a problem for defenders

Howard gave me a great first look, and her tenacity on defense immediately stood out as she wreaked havoc, leading to turnovers. She also handled the ball and saw the floor under pressure, did a good job of getting past the defender to score off the dribble, and also showed she could drop the "catch and shoot"

Boyd has been evaluated both by me and @playerrimedies, and I've watched her drop double-digit 3-pointers in a game against older players, 2 or 3 years ago. Still, she's done even more see evaluations here, yet her growth, both on and off the court, had me smiling as she's become more vocal and directing traffic, along with controlling the tempo better. Her court vision in traffic has shot up, plus her "stop and pop" jumper was a problem for defenders

Hines has been evaluated by me several times, see evaluations here, yet I wanted to dig even deeper when she was in elementary school to show what I saw, see evaluation here. She falls into that "never takes a play off" group, and her defensive pressure was smothering at times, but watching her dive on the floor for loose balls

Hines, yes, they are twins, game mirrors her sisters in so many ways, see evaluations here, but let me also go back to one of my earlier sightings before she entered middle school, see evaluation here, and I mentioned her being "heady" and "played within herself" both of which are always good signs. Her defensive pressure both in the half and full-court looked good, she set the defender up to attack and score plus she saw the floor under pressure

Ornelas gave me a nice first look as she did a good job of being productive while being pressured. She used a deceptive first step to attack and score off the dribble, she made good decisions with her passes, and her defense was also solid, so one more time, #sizedontmatter when you can play
