Summer Hoops Radar Watch: Class of 2029 PFs

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was a ton of talented players at the power forward position in the class of 2029 during the school season, and those same players could be in for some impressive seasons in summer basketball. One of her main weapons defensively is her shot blocking. McDermott does a good job navigating the movement of guards and, because of this, she finds herself in ideal spots on the floor to contest their shots if they make it to the paint. McDermott had multiple games with two or more blocks this past schol season. This includes a contest against Knoxville Catholic, where she had four blocks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McDermott also has above-average vertical speed for her size. She does a great job of shielding off defenders when attacking the basket, helping her get room to take a shot. Long, along with her interior scoring game, can score on mid-range pull-ups and 3-pointers off the catch effectively.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Long at 5'10" is also noticeably improving her dribbling skills as time goes on. She does a great job at staying in front of her defender, even if they have plus speed. Coleman's instincts, paired with her lateral movement, make her a constant steal threat. Coleman, more often than not, generates a steal in a game or causes a deflection.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On offense, Coleman's game has multiple layers. She is capable of creating off the dribble, especially driving downhill going right. She has above-average footwork, which helps her create driving lanes on occasion. Kee has good mechanics on her perimeter jumper and is more than comfortable scoring with her non-dominant hand on layups.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kee's above-average footwork shows up on defense as well. With this and the effort level she has as a player, she can generate steals in a hurry. In a game against Camden Central High School this past school her vast skillset was put on display. She has the ability to affect games in multiple areas. At 5'10", she moves more like a wing player, which allows her to have the potential to guard both on the perimeter and in the interior. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jackson on offense can score from behind the arc and in the interior. One of Jackson's better games from this past school season for Coffee County Central High School was against Warren County.
