June is always one of the most important stretches on the basketball calendar, especially with scholastic summer events and live period opportunities giving players a major platform to prove themselves. With teams competing in front of media, scouts, and college programs, these events create the perfect setting for prospects to separate themselves and build momentum heading into the rest of the summer.

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to attend both the Starcade Shootout and the Summer Motivation Classic, two strong events that featured competitive matchups, rising programs, and a number of players who made a clear impression. From established names continuing to produce, to under-the-radar prospects stepping into bigger roles, several athletes emerged as players to keep a close eye on moving forward.

Here are some of the standout players who caught my attention:

Young is a crafty point guard who showed good ability to finish around the rim. She looked to attack downhill and get her teammates involved. On the defensive end she made the right plays. With continued development, Young will be a key back court player of the future for the Bulldogs.

Greene is another combo guard to keep an eye on in the 2030 class. Although only an incoming freshmen, she showed solid play making ability on both ends of the floor. Greene is a tough defender all 94 feet. I really like her mid range game and I feel her best years of her career are ahead of her.

Williams can flat out hoop, she has a tight handle and can score from all three levels. She brings value to her team with her leadership and play making ability. This is a prospect that small colleges need to get on their radar as she has pretty good upside.

Sutton is a combo guard with great athletic ability. I feel her best basketball is just ahead of her and she is just scratching the surface of the player she will be. I like her potential as an athletic defender who makes plays. Solid athlete with potential upside.

Malone displayed solid play making ability on both ends of the floor. She has an athletic frame who plays physical and displayed that she could score from all three levels. With her athletic ability and skill set I feel she has a high ceiling despite only being a sophomore. College coaches keep a tab on her as her stock will rise.
