New Names of Note at Saint Louis U Team Camp

The young lefty is quick and elusive and could get where she wanted to go with her smooth handles and shiftiness. She could turn the corner to get downhill to score in the lane. She was also dropping off defenders to hit step-back 3-pointers off the dribble. She also used her strength to keep defenders on her hip when she advanced towards the basket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":1870267,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2026/06/IMG_2725.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1870267" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tiana Harris (Miller Career Academy): A 6'1" 2027 forward who is a hidden gem in the Public High League in St. Louis. She was by far the best shot blocker that we watched during the day. She used her length and great timing to block several shots without fouling. She was blocking shots in the paint and she ventured to the perimeter to block a couple of 3-pointers. She does a good job of keeping the ball high on the catch or offensive rebound to score with a nice touch inside. She also keeps the ball high after a rebound to throw a very good outlet pass to start the break.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":1870272,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2026/06/IMG_2723.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1870272" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Makhia Williams (Miller Career Academy): A 5'6" 2028 point guard who is another hidden gem in the PHL. She is a three-level scorer who can stop and pop from the mid-range and also knock down the 3-pointer off the catch. She can also create off the dribble and break down defenders with a variety of escape moves. Her crossover move was especially effective. She gets low on the dribble to split double teams and she can also keep them at bay with her strength. She gets into the lane on dribble penetration and can finish in traffic among the taller players. She also plays defense with good anticipation on the full court press. She passes and makes good cuts that lead to layups. She is a good ball handler who makes sound decisions with the ball and she doesn't over dribble. One was on a scoop shot in traffic that was excellent. She showed some good instincts on the defensive end as she doubled back to get steals and convert to layups.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
