Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at a group of standouts from the Classes of 2027 to 2029 who caught our attention at Wednesday night's four-team MICDS Shootout.

[player_tooltip player_id='777624' first='Livia' last='Losse'] (Kirkwood): The 6'0" 2027 forward is a really good player who is tough to match up with because of her height, strength and overall level of skill. She gets the ball on the perimeter and she's looking to attack off the dribble and she does it with tenacity. She was also hitting open 3-pointers off the catch. Her offensive game in the low post was also on point as she used good footwork to score inside. She also worked hard with a second and third effort to get offensive rebounds and putbacks. She has received a number of offers from schools such as Division I Northern Illinois and Division II Truman State and Missouri S&T.

[player_tooltip player_id='1810998' first='Kennedy' last='Newman'] (MICDS): A 6'0" 2028 small forward whose overall game and skill level continues to grow the more we watch her play. She entered high school as a 3-point shooter off the catch, but she is now evolved into a three-level scorer who can also create off the bounce. She has a quick one or two dribble move to set up the step back 3-pointer and she can also attack the close outs to get to the basket to score in the lane. She also went into the post to score with her height over smaller defenders. She has continued to pick up Division I offers in recent weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='777619' first='Julia' last='Long'] (Kirkwood): A 5'7" 2027 point guard who did a good job of pushing the pace whenever she had the chance. She is a high energy player who was constantly touching the paint on dribble penetration which is problematic for opposing defenses. She can score in the straight line drive or the runner in the lane.

[player_tooltip player_id='905509' first='Maria' last='Golfo'] (Lafayette): A 5'9" 2027 guard who plays a solid all-around game with good fundamentals and a high basketball IQ. If matched up with a smaller guard, she goes into the low post to take advantage of the mismatch. She is an unselfish player who handles the ball well and will spread the ball around to her teammates. She will be a four-year starter for the Lancers.

[player_tooltip player_id='994770' first='Riha' last='Obinegbo'] (MICDS): A 5'7" 2028 guard who plays with a motor that does not stop. When she gets the ball, she is going on the attack and she gets downhill on the drive at every opportunity. She is a good finisher in the lane and she doesn't mind taking the contact. She can also keep defenders honest by making perimeter jump shots to compliment her ability to drive.

[player_tooltip player_id='1311152' first='Hannah' last='Frank'] (Lafayette): A 2029 forward who is a good athlete who plays with good activity. She rebounds well and she got out of her area to grab boards. She is a good screener who catches the ball well on the roll down to score. She also hit a trail 3-pointer in the transition game. She has good defensive instincts as she made some good rotations to get blocked shots.

Lily Brown (MICDS): A 6'0" 2028 forward who has developed into a very solid player in the low post. We were impressed with her ability to hustle down the court on rim runs to get offensive rebounds and putbacks. She did it on more than one occasion during the evening. She also screens well and blocks shots on offense and blocks shots on defense. She establishes good position in the post and can score on the drop step off the catch.

Lexi Cooper (MICDS): A 2027 forward who is a physical player who does a lot of the little things to help her team succeed. She is a very good screener and she is always looking to block someone out for rebounding position when the shot it taken. She is also a good passer who keeps the ball moving on offense. Her effort is consistent and it is excellent.
