<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Six Elite Class of 2030 Prospects Who Dominated Varsity as Eighth Graders</h4>   In a remarkable display of talent, these six young athletes from the Class of 2030 stole the spotlight during the 2025-26 high school basketball season. Competing against older, more experienced players as eighth-graders, they delivered standout performances that powered their teams and announced their arrival as future stars in New Mexico girls' basketball.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    The dynamic 5'6” point guard emerged as the undisputed leader of this group. Ross became the only eighth-grader named to an All-State team regardless of classification, earning 5A First Team honors. Her fierce competitiveness and ability to produce terrific plays on both ends of the floor fueled Hobbs' run to the 5A state championship. As one of four Eagles to earn All-State recognition, Ross consistently rose above the challenge of facing varsity competition.     Parrott established herself as one of the most explosive scorers in the class. The 5'2” point guard thrived as a high-volume perimeter threat, spacing the floor and igniting Bosque's offense all season. In 23 games, she averaged a class-leading 16.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. She led the group with 19 double-figure performances, eight 20-point games, and a season-high 31 points against Hot Springs. Parrott also drained a class-best 44 three-pointers, showcasing her lethal range despite modest shooting percentages (23% FG, 17% 3PT) that reflect her aggressive, high-volume style.     A promising two-way guard and the Sartans' leading scorer, Cunningham brought scoring punch and defensive versatility. Across 20 games, she averaged 15.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. She knocked down 36 threes, delivered 15 double-digit outings, and posted seven 20-point games, including a season-high 26 points against La Cueva. Her shooting splits (37% FG, 28% 3PT, 79% FT) highlight a well-rounded offensive game with room to grow.     Love provided high-energy contributions and consistent production for the Sartans as a 5'9” shooting guard. In 26 games, she averaged 10.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game while connecting on 31 three-pointers. She recorded 12 double-figure games and three 20-point performances, with a season-high 24 points against Grants. Her splits (34% FG, 30% 3PT, 70% FT) reflect a developing shooter who impacted games through hustle and timely scoring.     Means emerged as a double-double machine and energetic two-way force for the Bobcats. In 21 games, the budding star averaged 9.1 points, a class-high 13.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 2.4 steals. She notched seven double-doubles and 10 double-digit scoring games. Her rebounding dominance and defensive presence give her tremendous long-term upside.     The 5'10” wing offered intriguing size and versatility for a Tigers team that advanced to the 5A Elite Eight. Across 29 games, Hanks averaged 4.6 points, 1.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 steals while draining 27 threes and posting four double-digit games, including a season-high 19 points. Her positional height and expanded role signal strong potential as she continues developing.    These young talents have already proven they can compete at the highest levels of high school basketball. As they enter their freshman year and beyond, their combination of skill, confidence, and production positions them as players to watch for years to come in New Mexico girls' hoops.
