These prospects strengthened their case at the Meltdown

The summer evaluation period isn't just about discovering new talent. It's also about tracking development. Players who return each weekend with a little more confidence, a little more production, or another wrinkle in their game gradually move themselves higher on recruiting boards. The [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] Meltdown held last weekend in the Twin Cities offered the final home-court opportunity of the Minnesota AAU season  to do exactly that.   Some of these prospects were already firmly on our radar, but strong performances reinforced why they're trending in the right direction. Whether it was increased production, continued skill development, or simply proving they can impact winning against quality competition, each left the weekend with additional recruiting momentum. Here are five prospects – two from Minnesota, three from South Dakota – who strengthened their recruiting case at the Meltdown.    Hajek continues to make a compelling case as one of South Dakota's rising guards. The Mitchell standout, ranked top 25 in her class, poured in 53 points at the Meltdown – seventh most in the tournament – including an 18-point performance in a win over 370 Select. What immediately jumps off the page is her relentless motor. She plays every possession with purpose, constantly pursuing the basketball and creating winning plays. Hajek combines a sturdy, athletic frame with a polished pull-up jumper and dependable three-point range. She embraces the dirty work, leads with her competitiveness, and consistently finds ways to impact games beyond the scoring column. Every viewing leaves us a little more convinced that college coaches should keep a close eye on her development.     Danks continues to validate her place among Minnesota's rising prospects. The 5-foot-10 Pipestone guard serves as the centerpiece of Sanford's 16U Grey squad, bringing size, athleticism, and confidence every time she takes the floor. She attacks without hesitation, embraces physical play, and consistently looks to make something happen with the basketball in her hands. Her combination of length, skill, and assertiveness allows her to impact games in a variety of ways, whether pushing the pace, attacking the rim, or making hustle plays defensively. Danks' steady improvement remains evident, and her upside continues to make her one of the more intriguing long-term prospects in the region     Terveen quietly continues to build upon an extensive set of skills that stands out in South Dakota's 2029 class. Playing on Sanford's talented 15U Black squad, she scored 49 points during the tournament while thriving in her role. She won't overwhelm you with highlight-reel athleticism, but she simply makes winning basketball plays. Terveen shoots it confidently from beyond the arc, navigates traffic with craft, rebounds well despite her size, and consistently delivers smart passes. With long arms, polished fundamentals, and an even-keel demeanor, she always seems to be around the basketball. The more we watch her, the more intriguing her long-term projection becomes.     Forde continues to emerge as one of the more intriguing long guards in the region. Playing for Sanford's 17U Black squad out of Fargo, the 5-foot-11 Park Christian (Moorhead) standout has noticeably added strength without sacrificing mobility. She fills a variety of roles beyond scoring, using her size, length, and versatility to influence the game on both ends of the floor. Forde has always possessed smooth shooting mechanics, but her improved physicality allows her to attack more effectively off the bounce and defend multiple positions. Players with her combination of length, skill, and positional versatility are always valuable. Forde holds Division 2 offers and appears to be a great fit for that level.     Bialis was one of several smaller guards at the Meltdown who proved once again that toughness and fundamentals still matter as much or more than height and length. The Tea product helped lead [program_tooltip program_id='1819826' first='Hoop' last='City'] to an undefeated run and the 2028 Gold Division championship by setting the tone defensively every time she stepped on the floor. Quick-footed, active, and relentless, she gets low in her stance and challenges opponents to beat her. Offensively, she keeps the ball moving, makes timely passes, and brings contagious energy to every possession. Like so many [program_tooltip program_id='1819826' first='Hoop' last='City'] players, Bialis relies on discipline, effort, and basketball IQ rather than flash, making her the type of player coaches love having on their roster.
