2026 PGH WA Freshman Showcase – Team 4 Evaluation

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The PGH Washington Freshman Showcase was last weekend and so many talented athletes came to compete! So many players stood out and fought hard the whole day! Here is the evaluation for team 4.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#407 - [player_tooltip player_id='1893903' first='Helaina' last='Soterakopoulos'] - Cascade HS</em></strong> - Helaina played great throughout the showcase, bringing energy to the court. She is a quick guard who uses her speed well in the transition game to get open looks down the court. She defended well too, moving her feet quickly and being able to recover. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#416 - [player_tooltip player_id='1901330' first='Zoë' last='Blake'] - Evergreen HS</strong></em> - Zoë was a big standout in my eyes for this years showcase. She brought the energy on then defensive side, always competing hard and causing turnovers often. She attacked the ball nicely on the offensive end, seeing gaps and being able to get to the bucket with ease.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#421 - [player_tooltip player_id='1884606' first='Macy' last='Webber'] - Toutle Lake HS</em></strong> - Macy was one of the best defenders from the day. She has quick hands, able to get her hands in the passing lanes often. She runs the lanes in transition well too, staying wide to create open space for her or the ball handler to attack. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#423 - [player_tooltip player_id='1877989' first='Audryna' last='March'] - White River HS</em></strong> - Audryna is a player who is always going 100%, fulling sprinting the lanes and to her spots on the defensive end. She defends multiple positions, being a valuable asset on the court. March shot the ball from deep at a high percentage too, showcasing a good shot IQ for knowing which shots to take or not take. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#428 - [player_tooltip player_id='1900361' first='Naiya' last='Carey-Boxley']- Edmonds-Woodway HS</em></strong> - Naiya has a high basketball IQ on both ends of the court. She set great screens and either rolled hard through the paint or popped out to give the guard space or stay ready on the perimeter. She defended nicely all day too, moving her feet quickly while staying alert. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#432 - [player_tooltip player_id='1895440' first='Avree' last='Cooper'] - Silas HS</strong></em> - Avree was another standout from the showcase over the weekend. She is a fantastic ball handler as she rarely turned it over throughout the day. She got down-hill really well, attacking open gaps with her speed and having the ability to absorb contact in the paint to get the finish. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#439 - [player_tooltip player_id='1886534' first='Mya' last='Illingworth'] - Lake Stevens HS </em></strong>- Mya was very fundamental all showcase long. She played off two feet in the paint when attacking or pushing the pace in transition. She always made the extra pass, which standouts at showcases like these. She scored well by using her speed to blow by defenders throughout the day too. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#441 - [player_tooltip player_id='1864791' first='Evin' last='Richardson'] - Juanita HS</em></strong> - Evin has a bright future on the court as she does all the little things very well. She rebounded the ball with ease, using her strength to grab the ball and box out. She knocked down deep shots, having a quick release on her jumper. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#58 - [player_tooltip player_id='1902080' first='Rosemary' last='Carpinito'] - C/O 2031</strong></em> - Rosemary is about to be an 8th grader and played great against the older competition. She displayed high vision with the ball in her hands, keeping her eyes up to see teammates who are leaking in transition or cutting backdoor. She played hard on defense too, flying around to create havoc for opposing players. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#323 - Arissa Shah - Archbishop-Murphy HS </em></strong>- Arissa was a player who had one of the best jumper from the showcase. She has a great shot from deep, having the confidence to let it fly from anywhere too. She moved off-ball nicely to keep defenders on their toes and was able to get good fundamental buckets throughout the day. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
