Exposure Fall League Tips Off: High School

The Exposure Fall League tipped off it's season on Sunday, August 23. It will run through the end of September. The league is broken down into 3 divisions: 5/6th grade, 7/8th grad and High School.

Six teams of 53 players make up the High School Division.

Here are 5 players that stood out on Tip Off Day:

A year ago when I watched Alexis in the Exposure Fall League, about ninety percent of her shots were 3 pointers. Today, she looked like a totally different player. A large percentage of her shots were at the basket and from the free throws line. She did attempt some threes. However, she was relentless at attacking to the basket. She is a two way player and her lateral footwork made it difficult for the player she guarded to get by her.

I've been watching Ava for a year. She is well over 6 feet tall and has displayed a comfort at facing the basket as a shooter. Today, she displayed growth and comfort on the block. She started the game with several touches with her back to the basket and left hook attempts. She drained a wing 3 and was able to get several buckets on the right block.

The most efficient scorer of the day. London couldn't miss in the first half. She was 3 of 3 from 3. She scored from the top of key, wing and corner. The rest of her shots came at the basket either from transition layups, half court attacks and even a spin move at the basket.

If a board is coming off the rim, Jade has a chance to get it. She doesn't have to be near the basket to get it neither. She is going to fly in from wherever she is on the floor to get the rebound. I had her down with at least 7 rebounds.

Only a 9th grader and she already has a year of high school experience under her belt, which she had on display. I remember watching her in the Exposure Fall League a year ago and observing how good her hands were at catching the ball on the block. Today, it was her rebounding. I had her down with 9 rebounds in the first half and converting on 3 offensive board also.
