At most showcase events choosing all-star teams is a no-win endeavor. Too many players. Not enough scouts. As a result, someone can have a banner performance that gets missed and they are left off the all-star team. The Prep Girls Hoops Up Next Showcase was different. With just 40 players in attendance last Saturday in Maple Grove, my colleague Tony Ragulen and I were able to see every player multiple times throughout the day. As a result, we decided that all-star teams made sense.

As discussed yesterday in my article 5 things we learned at the Up Next Showcase there's a big difference between 6th and 8th graders in terms of physical development, basketball skills and game experience. That's why we've separated our all-star selections by grade level with five players each in the classes of 2033 and 2032 and five players plus honorable mentions for the 2031s.

I feel the need to say something about one player who earned an honorable mention: [player_tooltip player_id='1357327' first='Azariah' last='Bailey']. There's no question that the elite prospect from Hopkins delivered an all-star level performance at the showcase. Because she was attending an AAU tryout earlier in the day, however, Azaria missed all of the 3x3 action and some of the 5x5 play, as well. We didn't think it was fair to leave another competitor out of the top five performers who was there for all four hours of play. Rest assured, Bailey is a baller!

Evaluations for all of these players were published in the team-specific articles this week. To read a player's individual evaluation click on their name. That link will take you to their individual page where you'll find links to any article they were mentioned in. Without further ado, here are the PGH Up Next Showcase all-star teams with players listed in order of their jersey numbers at the event.

CLASS OF 2031

#9 [player_tooltip player_id='1354631' first='Kendra' last='Lynch'] – 5'1 guard, Northfield

#44 [player_tooltip player_id='1806994' first='Addison' last='Spencer'] – 5'8 forward, Minnehaha Academy

#45 [player_tooltip player_id='1417807' first='Sumaiyah' last='Kunert'] – 5'8 guard, Westonka

#46 [player_tooltip player_id='1881593' first='Kaidence' last='Reif-Edwards'] – 5'10 guard, Hopkins

#63 [player_tooltip player_id='1246119' first='Erlande' last='Lonsdale'] – 5'8 guard, St. Louis Park

Honorable mentions

#11 [player_tooltip player_id='1357327' first='Azariah' last='Bailey'] – 6'0 forward, Hopkins

#37 [player_tooltip player_id='1808333' first='Leighton' last='Weatherby'] – 5'4 guard, Bloomington Jefferson

#43 [player_tooltip player_id='1892859' first='Layla' last='Mayberry'] – 5'6 guard, Athlos Academy

#47 [player_tooltip player_id='1886731' first='Ka'Lea' last='Williams'] – 5'9 forward, Richfield

#50 [player_tooltip player_id='1350914' first='Lorraine' last='Brzozowski'] – 5'10 forward, Spring Lake Park

#62 [player_tooltip player_id='1879147' first='Reese' last='Warren'] – 5'7 wing, Rogers

[player_tooltip player_id='1883866' first='Claire' last='Rank']

CLASS OF 2032

#8 [player_tooltip player_id='1217204' first='Harper' last='Erickson'] – 5'0 guard, Brainerd

#10 [player_tooltip player_id='1872306' first='Nalani' last='Hight'] – 5'1 guard, Sioux Falls

#19 [player_tooltip player_id='1886211' first='Brinley' last='Skala'] – 5'5 guard, Owatonna

#21 [player_tooltip player_id='1883930' first='Clara' last='Gustafson'] – 5'5 guard, Minnetonka

#39 [player_tooltip player_id='1883866' first='Claire' last='Rank'] – 5'6 guard, Minnetonka

[player_tooltip player_id='1816260' first='Jacy' last='Ceaser']

CLASS OF 2033

#3 [player_tooltip player_id='1819888' first='Amaya' last='Sampson'] – 4'10 guard, St. Paul

#7 [player_tooltip player_id='1877991' first='Kaci' last='Lynch'] – 5'0 guard, Northfield

#17 [player_tooltip player_id='1877583' first='Farrah' last='Bryant'] – 5'4 guard, Athlos Academy

#30 [player_tooltip player_id='1816260' first='Jacy' last='Ceaser'] – 5'6 guard, St. Cloud

#36 [player_tooltip player_id='1862920' first='Ottilie' last='Mrnak'] – 5'6 guard, Maple Grove
