Offense may fill the highlight reels, but defense wins games—and these five players brought serious pressure to the 2026 Prep Girls Hoops Louisiana Expo.   The Expo featured some of the most talented prospects in the state, but this group separated itself with toughness, communication, quick hands and relentless effort. She protected the basket with timely blocks, jumped passing lanes for steals and used her length to disrupt offensive rhythm. Her effort stood out just as much as her physical tools. Whether she was diving after a loose ball, recovering in transition or helping a teammate defensively, Jackson remained fully engaged.   She also put together a strong offensive showing. Jackson attacked the rim with confidence, finished through contact and scored in double figures in both games. She ran the floor well, found openings in the defense and remained aggressive without forcing the action.   What separated Jackson was her ability to build momentum for her team. A block, steal or hustle play on defense could quickly become a basket on the other end. She consistently turned effort into production and gave her team a boost whenever it needed one.   Jackson showed that she is much more than a defensive specialist. She can protect the basket, create turnovers, score the basketball and make winning plays all over the floor. Delmore used her length and physicality to make opposing guards uncomfortable. She applied pressure without giving up her position, challenged passing lanes and stayed active away from the basketball. Her ability to defend multiple positions gave her team flexibility, while her nonstop motor allowed her to remain involved from the beginning of a possession until the final rebound.   What separated Delmore was the attitude she brought to defense. She accepted difficult assignments, competed through contact and refused to take possessions off. Whether she was pressuring the ball, helping inside or fighting for a loose rebound, she played with the intensity and determination needed to change the momentum of a game.   Delmore also performed well offensively. She handled the basketball under pressure, attacked openings and used her size to create scoring opportunities. Her ability to contribute on both ends prevented opponents from treating her as only a defensive specialist.   Delmore brought the complete package—defensive pressure, versatility, physicality and offensive production. She accepted every challenge and competed with serious energy. She never allowed her size to limit her impact, competing with toughness and creating turnovers that immediately pushed her team into transition.   Her ability to rebound from the guard position also stood out. Once Lewis secured the basketball, she did not wait for the action to develop. She pushed the pace, attacked the defense and created scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates.   Lewis also performed well offensively, displaying the confidence and awareness of a true floor general. She controlled the tempo, attacked openings and made the correct reads while playing at a high speed.   Lewis brought pressure, toughness and nonstop energy to every possession. She forced turnovers, rebounded above her size and quickly transformed defense into offense. She defended guards on the perimeter, battled physical players inside and used her length to challenge shots from different areas of the floor. She moved well laterally, stayed active in passing lanes and never hesitated to switch onto another matchup when her team needed her.   Her impact went far beyond blocks and steals. Clark communicated, rotated to help teammates, attacked the glass and competed for every loose ball. She accepted every assignment and played with the confidence to guard anyone who lined up across from her.   Clark was equally impressive offensively. She finished around the basket, moved well without the ball and used her athleticism to create scoring opportunities. She played with confidence and displayed the versatility to contribute from multiple spots.   Clark was a true two-way force who seemed to be involved in everything. She defended every position, challenged shots, created turnovers, rebounded and produced offensively. She anticipated where ball handlers wanted to go, cut off driving lanes and forced them away from their preferred spots. Instead of reaching and gambling, she remained disciplined, kept her body in front and made opponents work deep into possessions.   Her attention to detail was just as impressive as her effort. Stokes recognized developing plays, provided help at the correct time and recovered without leaving another player open. She also boxed out, secured rebounds and helped finish the defensive work she started.   Offensively, Stokes showed that she could punish teams once the ball changed hands. She ran the floor, attacked openings and confidently knocked down shots, making her a threat beyond her defensive assignments.
