Fall Rankings Rundown: 2028 Small Forwards

It's September, which means it's time for the rankings throughout the site to be updated. About a week ago we released the updated list of 2028 prospects, but I would like to turn my attention to the small forwards in this article. Below is a list of those prospects with "small forward" listed as their primary position, followed by some attention for the newcomers, and a look at a couple of ladies who are on the rise.   .    NEWCOMERS:    I finally had a chance to see Teagan at length during one of the July "live" periods, and she is definitely a really nice wing prospect. She has a strong, athletic frame, nice length, good North/South speed, and even some bounce to her. She can handle it in transition and initiate the offense like a point forward, or she can act as a slashing wing scorer or mid-post attacker. She will rebound, she defends multiple positions well, and she makes some tough hustle plays. I think several elite small colleges will have interest soon enough.     Cami is another versatile wing prospect who I thought had a nice Spring and Summer grassroots season. She is strong, athletic, and a tireless worker. She is constantly chasing down rebounds, diving on the floor for loose balls, and she is a tough-nosed defender who willingly takes on players bigger than herself. Cami showed a little touch outside as well, and she can also be a wing shooter, a slasher, or a nice mid-post scorer. She's another versatile type of prospect the better small colleges find invaluable.     Amiya is a strong, athletic, physical wing prospect who loves to play through contact. She has broad shoulders, some length, and she likes to attack the basket and absorb/create contact along the way. She is a solid finisher around the basket, but she can knock down an open jumper when set and in rhythm. Additionally, I like how gritty Amiya can get defensively, as she doesn't mind taking on a variety of guards, wings, and even undersized forwards. Her versatility and toughness will help her recruitment.     Pollie is a new name to the site, and she is just starting to scratch the surface. She is a long, wiry, fluidly athletic wing. She has good touch from the perimeter, and she is developing a more dynamic handle. As she finishes growing, look for her to get a little stronger and play with more physicality, but she definitely has some intriguing qualities as a wing prospect for the college level. Her best days are definitely in front of her, but she saw some action last year, and she could play a much bigger role as a Junior.    .   STOCK-RISERS:    Maddy really took off this Spring and Summer, and she showed a great deal of versatility and athleticism. She has an athletically strong frame, she can get out and run, plus she's a bouncy athlete. She has a solid handle in transition, she has improved as a perimeter shooter, plus she can basket cut and post. Defensively, she also plays with versatility because of her athleticism and strength. I think she's the type of kid the elite small colleges love, and she should even draw some low Division-I interest as well.     Jaylee hit the radar back during the 2025-2026 season with strong performances just about every night. She carried that over to the Spring, and by July when I saw her, she was very good. She is long, wiry, and fluidly athletic. She's also quick, fast, and bouncy. She has some unique athletic talents. She can handle it a little like a point forward, she has touch to the 3-point line, and she can create offense for others. Defensively, she can defend the perimeter and create steals, plus she blocks shots and rebounds inside.
