Finally Caught A Fall League

The title isn't misleading; I just haven't attended a fall league in quite some time, yet a video showing Lexi Oommen going completely off made me think about catching one. Oommen's Ridgepoint head coach, Dominique Thomas, is one of my all-time favorites and one of the top point guards who played in the Houston area; however, Westside was playing in Memorial's fall league, and since my daughter's backcourt for the Wolves, Ausha Hartley, is an assistant coach, it was a no-brainer, as Hartley remains one of the best defensive guards to come out of here. You don't get the type of history I can give you in the flow on late-night podcasts, so here ya go

Oommen had me going "ooooo man" when I saw her showing me another dimension of her game. Yeah, I knew she could defend, handle the ball under pressure, and see the floor, yet watching her meticulously set defenders up to score off the dribble while finishing off-balance was nice. She's showing more explosiveness; her "stop and pop" looked good, and I can't wait to see her at the Texas Invitational in November see my schedule

Earnest grabbed my attention over a year ago at Shooting 4 Da Cure, and seeing her "on the court" progression during the club season put me on notice see evaluations here. Watching her not only create her shot better, but also give me the "catch and shoot" was nice. She's raw in so many areas, yet standing above "the magic number" and being "long and athletic" will always be a draw for next-level coaches. She has good hands, even caught some errant passes, and she rebounded on both ends. Her timing also looked good as she altered some shots, and she rebounded on both ends
