New Recruiting Tidbits from Around the State

Congratulations to those players who have just made their commitments in the past week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>COMMITMENTS</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Class of 2028 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1035095' first='Kennedy' last='Newman'] of MICDS has given a commitment to College of Charleston. The 6'0" Newman is currently No. 11 in the Prep Girls Hoops Missouri Class of 2027 rankings. She enjoyed a big summer grassroots season with the Skye Sports Academy (IL) 16U team and earned several Division I scholarship offers in the process. As a sophomore at MICDS, she was limited to 18 games with injuries. She still averaged 8.7 points and three rebounds in helping the Rams to a berth in the Class 5 state championship game. She is on pace to become the Rams' career leading in 3-pointers entering her junior season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Class of 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='777635' first='Taylor' last='Scheer'] of St. Francis Borgia has given a commitment to Johnson County Community College. The 5'9" Scheer is entering her fourth year as a starter for the Knights. As a junior, she averaged 18.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and nearly two steals a game while shooting 77 percent from the free throw line. She led the Knights to an 18-10 record last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Class of 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='717513' first='Sydney' last='Blaine'] of Notre Dame de Sion has given a commitment to Division II Lincoln University. The 5'10" Blaine is a versatile athlete who can stuff the stat sheet. As a junior, she averaged 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 steals while shooting 36 percent from 3-point range in leading Notre Dame de Sion to an 18-11 record.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Class of 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1233029' first='Aubrey' last='Janes'] of Montgomery County has given a commitment to Ottawa University. As a junior, she was an All EMO Conference and All-District selection.
