PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase Team 3 Evaluations: Part Two

Another PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase is in the books. About 90 players made the trip to the Champions Center, and plenty of notable players stood out. We will look at the 5v5 teams and discuss what each player brought to the table when I saw them play. I'll highlight a few players later because of number changes and to make sure I know who I noted. That said, let's look at some of the players from Team Three who impressed last weekend.    Rose has an intriguing physical toolset because of her 5-11 frame and her length. The Lake Mills native is a rangy kid who can do a little of everything on both ends of the floor. She's a solid athlete and can use her physical tools to impact the game in numerous ways defensively, and I like her ability to step out and knock down shots from beyond the arc.     The Milwaukee-area native is a quick guard who can put defenders on their back foot guarding her on the perimeter. Gann can turn the corner on her initial defender and put pressure on defenses to keep her out of the paint. However, she can give defenses headaches if they try to play off her and protect the paint; she can knock down perimeter jumpers.     The Sheboygan native seemed comfortable letting her ball-dominant teams handle the ball and create off the dribble. She played an off-ball role and spaced the floor for her teammates, and knocked down open shots when they came her way. Ninneman also made quick decisions with the ball when she caught it. She moved the ball well on the perimeter and helped her team's offense continue flowing. She isn't going to be someone who brings much flair to the floor, but she can be trusted to make good choices with the ball, which you can't say about everyone heading into their first year of high school basketball.     Like most Albany/Monticello players I've seen play, I was impressed by Kopp's motor on the floor. She competed for everything and used her physicality to rebound on both ends. She also never complained about anything; even when she was knocked to the floor, she popped up and sprinted back on defense. I loved how she played, even if she wasn't scoring countless points. However, she has the motor to help her high school team stay competitive. She can make her matchup miserable anytime she's on the court.
