PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase Team 4 Evaluations: Part One

Another PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase is in the books. About 90 players made the trip to the Champions Center, and plenty of notable players stood out. We will look at the 5v5 teams and discuss what each player brought to the table when I saw them play. I'll highlight a few players later because of number changes and to make sure I know who I noted. That said, let's look at some of the players from Team Four who impressed last weekend.    I liked what Fix brought in the 3v3 portion of the showcase. She looked comfortable playing in more space and made the right choices with the ball. Fix is a reliable guard who helps her team's offense flow by making quick decisions with the ball in her hands. She has the skill to be effective at a smaller school at the high school level and could improve as she adds strength to her frame through the next few years.     The Marshfield native is an undersized guard who has the skill set to create off the dribble. Although Soskos may not be the most physically imposing player on the floor, she isn't afraid to take on the biggest kids. She was aggressive with the ball at appropriate times and created shots for others. I liked the edge she brought to the floor, and that could help her earn a role for the Tigers in the future.     Lederman is a smaller guard who handles the ball and makes plays. However, I thought she showed a lot of selflessness by playing more of an off-ball role with players she may not have known before the event. Her ability to handle the ball under pressure was impressive, but her willingness to fill a role and not hunt her own shot will help her elevate the players around her once she's on the floor for Milton.     Wolf is one of the more versatile players who was in Appleton for the Freshman Showcase. Wolf can play numerous roles and score from all three levels. She is also comfortable playing with the ball in her hands and can take her defender off the dribble if she gets a mismatch. She also has the physical and athletic tools to be an impressive defender who can guard multiple positions.     I've really liked Ebben's game since I first saw her over this past grassroots season. She can play either backcourt role and find ways to help her team compete. She isn't the flashiest player on the floor, but she can do a little of everything and make the game look simple. Ebben also has the strength and athleticism to be an effective varsity player for the Foxes this winter.
