2027 Player Rankings Update: New Additions

We added a handful of prospects to the PGH 2027 System within this Player Rankings Update.

Below are a couple players that we will be seeing compete at the Varsity level once again this Winter for their respective high school programs.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

One of the more dominant PF's that the state has to offer comes to us in the form of 2027 - Ava Mundt. Mundt is one of those players that you have to mark on a scouting report. She is extremely active near the bucket on both sides of the ball, never giving up on a play until the whistle is blown. Mundt has several offers from all around the Midwest to continue on playing this sport at the next level and it makes sense as to why. She comes in at 6'0, she produces, she listens, and she is scrappy within her own levels of physicality in between the blocks. Those are some things college coaches love to see and some things that one lucky coach is going to to work with following this Winter season. As for this Update, Mundt moves into the top 75 at #57.

It would be foolish to say that Elizabeth Owen's won't have a major part in DSM Christian's success on the hardwood throughout the next six months. Owen has put together a respectable year as a whole as it pertains to this sport. She has been a play maker that her Varsity team could look to when they needed a bucket in the past and she took the momentum from her success from her high school season and rode that into a really nice AAU season on the road. We will be keeping a close eye on Owens throughout this upcoming season. She has demonstrated that she could play at the next level one day. Where at? That is still to be determined but i'm sure we will become aware sooner rather than later.

Laney Johnson has a chance to put together a really nice Senior year at Solon High School as a role player within the Spartans system. Johnson isn't new to the Varsity spot light. She has been someone competing at the Varsity level for a few years now and that should help give her full confidence to lead things as they step into this Winter. They will also have the #1 2029 in the state in Tenley Levin on their side so that is sure to help but when teams overplay Levin - others will have to step up to contribute and I think one of those players will be Johnson in the long run.

You want to talk about a talented SF out of the 2027 Class that possesses length, situational awareness, and the ability to adapt in real time? Look no further than Sadie Wheelock of South Central Calhoun High School. The 5'11 SF has been nails in big moments throughout her entire high school career and she is ready to show everyone watching what she can really do when she takes the court this season. She will return as a force to be reckoned with in the paint but she is also versatile enough to spread things out when need be. If she has a bigger individual matchup around her, she is sure to step out and attack from the three point line either off of cutting action or screening action in one way or another. All in all, we should expect some wicked stat lines this season from Wheelock. She has all the tools to produce. She just needs to keep making it happen.

Boyer Valley always brings some talent whenever they are looking to compete. It doesn't matter which sport specifically. Someone for their GBB group, that we should hear about this season from afar is Maggie Yanak. Yanak is that player for them that can move between the 1, 2, or 3 spot. She isn't the tallest so it's hard to put her at the 4 but I wouldn't count it out in some specific situations. Offensively, Yanak can move off the ball to produce at steady rates but she can also attack off the bounce. Defensively, she knows what she is doing. She can stick on her individual matchup unlike most others and that stands out. Like I said, Boyer Valley always has some promising athletes and this is another perfect example of that.
