KBC Middle School State Tournament Standouts

The KBC Middle School State Tournament was nonstop energy from start to finish, bringing together some of the best middle school teams and players from throughout the Bluegrass State. The tournament featured thrilling wins, tough losses, high level competition and plenty of players who stepped up when the moment demanded it.   Here are some of the players who rose to the challenge and stood out throughout the tournament.    Hallie is a quick and creative guard who can impact the game in a variety of ways. She has the ability to knock down shots, attack the lanes and finish through traffic at the rim. She also does a great job creating opportunities for her teammates with her court vision and passing ability.     Makayla is a long guard with the ability to guard multiple positions while scoring from all three levels at a high percentage. She can create her own shot, make plays for teammates and use her length to create problems on both ends of the floor. Her combination of size, skill and versatility makes her a difficult matchup.     Cate is a true point guard who has the ability to control the pace of the game on both ends of the floor. She handles the ball extremely well, can finish at the rim and has the ability to knock down the three. Defensively, she creates problems for opposing guards with her pressure and competitiveness.     Kat plays much bigger than her size and was willing to do whatever the Lady Dragons needed throughout the tournament. She scored off the catch, made excellent cuts to the basket and delivered a ton of big passes. She also competed on the glass and showed the ability to handle the ball, giving Green County another versatile player capable of impacting the game in multiple ways.     Zoe is an all around point guard with a complete offensive game. At 5'8”, she has the size to create advantages while also possessing the ability to drive, shoot and handle the basketball. Her court awareness allows her to make smart decisions and keep the offense moving.     Reese is a dangerous offensive player who can stretch the floor with her three point shooting while also attacking the basket. Her ability to penetrate creates opportunities for herself and her teammates, making her a constant threat whenever she has the ball.     Hadleigh is an absolute force defensively. Her lateral quickness, instincts and determination allow her to lock down some of the toughest guards on the floor. Her defensive intensity can completely change the momentum of a game.   Offensively, Hadleigh continues to develop into a dynamic player with an excellent feel for the floor. She combines strong passing ability with confidence attacking the basket and shooting from long range, giving her the versatility to create for herself and others.     Reese is a dangerous offensive player with an impressive inside and outside game. She can score in multiple ways and keeps defenses guessing with her versatility. Her ability to attack from different areas of the floor makes her a difficult player to defend.     Layla can attack the rim in a variety of ways and has the ability to create scoring opportunities for herself. She is also deadly from the outside, giving her the ability to hurt defenses regardless of where they try to take away her game.
