2022 Players Poised for Breakout Season

I recently listed out some of the upperclassmen that are on track to have a great season. For a look back at those lists, see the 2020 and 2021 players poised for a breakout season. Continuing with the “Breakout Season” series by class, we are onto the 2022 class of sophomores. There are a handful of 2022 prospects that had a pretty strong freshman season, but these are some players that I really suspect will take that next step forward in their development and perform at an all around higher level. 2022 Breakout Players: 2022 6'4 C Camille Jentzsch (Lake Stevens HS) - Cam is one of the state's best post prospects at 6'4 and known by college coaches in a variety of Division 1 conferences, but the 4A Wesco North Division has not yet seen her talents. Cam sat out her freshman season with a foot injury that kept her sidelined, but she is back strong and healthy this year. She had a solid summer on the circuit and figures to be a difficult matchup for many 4A teams. Cam should be right in the double-double range for her sophomore year. 2022 6'3 PF Lauren Glazier (Mt. Si HS) - Lauren has a high ceiling with outstanding length and mobility at 6'3. While she spent some of her freshman year growing into her body and learning the game, she should feel much more confident and comfortable in year two. Lauren is a legitimate Division 1 prospect and I expect her to take a pretty big leap in production on the floor for the Wildcats. 2022 6'0 SF Camryn Cartwright (Chiawana HS) - Chiawana has built some strong momentum in the off-season and I believe Carwright will be an important piece to the puzzle for the 4A program. Camryn has good length, runs the floor well and she is pretty skilled overall. She will not be Chiawana's leading scorer or primary ball handler, but I think her biggest asset will be her versatility all over the floor. If Chiawana wants to make a run at the state championship, she will have to step it up on both sides of the ball. 2022 5'9 G Jaiden Bea (Washougal HS) - Jaiden comes from a basketball family and a line of successful ball players at Washougal recently. She is strong, skilled and fits into the team concept. Washougal is coming off of a 2A state title, but lost their two senior captains including her cousin, Beyonce Bea (current Idaho freshman). Jaiden's role will expand this year and she will have to get it done at a high level if Washougal wants to return back to the state championship.
