October's Very Own Recruiting Report

With October closing and the season right around the corner, there's no better time than the moment to discuss some of the recent recruitment news in the region. This was a valued month filled with updates from some incredible talent. There are 5 senior talents mentioned here. Below is the latest and up to date recruiting report. [player_tooltip player_id='405316' first='Julia' last='Blum'] (2025) | 5'9 SG | Middlesex   Earlier this week, Blum announced her commitment to Johnson & Wales. JWU is getting a steady 2-way talent that is committed to making the necessary plays needed towards winning basketball. Julia is a proficient shooter. She relocates to the open areas of the floor to be able to give playmakers much more of a quality look. Blum makes herself available and reduces the additional time some shooters take to load up. She is already in prime position to let it fly which greatly reduces the chance of her shot being bothered. Defense is certainly Julia's strength. Blum is responsible for causing plenty of turnovers. Expect her to check cutters regularly or even blowing up plays before they start. She does the dirty work that others won't and shows the ultimate hustle by diving for loose balls. JWU is a great fit for Julia.     [player_tooltip player_id='363919' first='Reagan' last='Dowd'] (2025) | SG | Norwell   Reagan announced her commitment to play at Hamilton College earlier in the month. She shows the capacity to score on all 3 levels plus she gets after it defensively. Last year Dowd averaged 14 ppg, 7 rpg, 5 apg, 4.5 spg, while shooting 45% from the 3-point line and 93% from the free-throw line. Reagan has an all-around game that will translate to the next level. She can make an impact on either side of the ball and brings a winning attitude. Hamilton is a fantastic home for Dowd.     [player_tooltip player_id='362355' first='Emily' last='Ryan'] (2025) | 5'8 SG | St. George's   A couple weeks back Emily declared her commitment to Colby College. Emily will be an excellent fit with the Mules next year. She brings that championship mentality combined with excellent versatility to any line up. A solid shooter that can put the ball on the floor just as well. Ryan makes the right reads when getting into the lane and has controlled finishes. She knows how to play the right way and her game will translate on the next level. Ryan will do whatever it takes to help the team's chances of winning. She consistently puts her body on the line by diving on the floor or taking those hard charges from those athletic drivers. Colby is a terrific program for Emily.     [player_tooltip player_id='363768' first='Gracie' last='Augustine'] (2025) | 5'10 Wing | Governor's Academy   Gracie is a uniquely gifted player whose game is certainly different from the average wing. Gracie can score from the midrange, low post and even knock down the 3. She switches up her offensive attacks based on the defensive tactics portrayed throughout the game. Augustine isn't rushed in her attacks, but what's even more special is she is constantly involved in some sort of screening action. She is the type of player that can make the right read within an offensive set that has developed options. The high IQ Gracie shows will assist her at the next level. She's found a great home at Williams College.     [player_tooltip player_id='273929' first='Christina' last='Pham'] (2025) | 5'7 PG | Nobles & Greenough   Christina is the #1-point guard in New England and a highly touted college prospect who has been one of the most prolific talents around. The trailblazing pg has found the ideal institution to continue her student athlete career at Fairfield University. Pham has been on a historic run and isn't even done yet. The Nobles' senior has a good chance at winning yet another championship this season. The carefully crafted offensive onslaughts Pham is able to showcase on a regular basis are astounding. She can score on all 3 levels, but she is able to produce within offensive sets, not just isolation possessions. The ball never sticks in her hands, even as a primary ballhandler. When sliding to an off-ball position, she still brings that same lethality. Christina is one of the more unshakable defenders that takes pride in stopping opposing players. She plays smart by not committing a ton of fouls and limits the number of possessions she's out of position. Pham can guard team's primary ballhandlers or leading scorer within the halfcourt and she has no problem pressing full court either. A tremendous talent that's without question a fan favorite. Christina isn't going too far next year though; she'll be headed down the road to Connecticut to play for the Fairfield Stags.
