The Central Connecticut Conference continues to be a shining beacon of success within the state when it comes to girls basketball. That hasn't changed at all going into this coming season, one that is fulled with depth and quality. There's a difference between dogs and dawgs, the latter having more emphasis on grit, passion and electricity. These girls below have that and then some, big names to look out for, for sure.

Nicole Riemer - Bristol Central (2026)

We begin this article talking about a forward that's established herself as one of the best in the conference and the state. Junior Nicole Riemer has been a double-double machine for Bristol Central over the course of her high school career and has no plans of stopping that level of dominance. Great positioning down low which leads to rebounds and points. Great awareness as well with defenders/opponents around her.

Brooke Walker - Berlin (2026)

Walker is a versatile piece on the floor, able to do just about anything and then some. Used this past summer to get much-needed reps against quality teams in AAU ball. The experience has helped her immensely, both with scoring in tight windows and using her agility to lead the pack on a fast break or finding an opening on the interior. Getting plenty of looks from college scouts already, not a shock at all to us.

Amanda Noel - Bristol Eastern (2025)

Noel is a big name to watch coming into a big senior season for her to do some damage. Made a name for herself as a junior with some integral performances in important games that helped lead Bristol Eastern to victory. She provides versatility as well as efficiency, weaving in-and-out of dicey situations to score, cause a turnover, get a rebound, or get a deflection. Very much a do-it-all kind of player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1242924' first='Autumn' last='Udoh'] - Bristol Eastern (2026)

Just as Noel has her sights set on a fantastic senior season, her teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='1242924' first='Autumn' last='Udoh'], is gearing up for an important junior year after truly breaking out as a sophomore. A team leader, pure scorer and all-around playmaker, Udoh is a two-way player on the floor, showing off a lot of her athleticism on both sides of the ball. Knows how to finish with the ball and plays with flair and creativity.

[player_tooltip player_id='1268518' first='Layla' last='Ljubuncic'] - Lewis Mills (2027)

Ljubuncic is the lone sophomore that we'll be talking about on this list, but she's shown already that she can hang with anyone, if not play a level above her competition. Crafty, creative guard that's finding her stride and finding the skillset that will best suit her game. She can certainly shoot and drive, finishes well at the rim and will pick the pocket of any opponent to get a turnover and get into transition.

Amaya McNeil - Maloney (2026)

McNeil mans the fort for Maloney and has done a good job at establishing her presence down low, something that not every forward/center is able to do effectively. You get a real sense of a complete package with her, able to get a block, deflection, steal or board defensively, but knows her way around the rim well offensively to get close-range, high-percentage shots in bunches.
