Boyd Buchanan Lady Buccaneers Ready for Breakthrough Season

Talk about a team on the come up, this squad is ready to have a breakthrough season.&nbsp; They have speed, they have size, they can fill it up at a high clip, and these girls are ready to take on the opposition. There is a different mindset around campus. One that exudes determination. These girls have been battled tested and have gained valuable experience to know what to expect coming into this year. Hungry? You better believe it. These Lady Bucs are ready to battle.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Under Coach Walker, the Lady Bucs went 11-11 overall and finished second in the district with a 4-2 record. The games that they lost in were against clubs who went pretty deep into the tournament. Early on the girls saw what it would take to reach the next level. As the stacked wins throughout the season, you could see a different demeanor amongst the club. There was no pity. It was swagger, encouragement, and grit as they kept competing and got better. The team came out and played with poise, unleashing a balance system that saw the interior posts go to work, coupled with sharpshooting on the outside. The Lady Bucs are ready to compete for district contention plus much more this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A solid foundation has been laid down in Chattanooga. This crew is ready to get the season going and come out like gangbusters. As I mentioned earlier, these girls are hungry and ready to prove to everyone who they are. They had a tremendous offseason where girls were in the gym getting better. Nothing was taken for granted as these young ladies put in countless hours with the ball in their hands. Look for this ball team to come out strong and make some noise this upcoming season. One opponent at a time, teams will feel the wrath of the Boyd-Buchanan Lady Buccaneers. Arg! Yes she can knock it down from deep, but will also put it on the floor and finish around the rim against contact. She is solid on the defensive end where she is prone to put opponents in a seatbelt. Defensively, she makes it tough to operate downlow. Keeping kids off their mark, being physical, blocking shots, ect. Superb at finishing around the rim and will do so against contact. A heady ball player who is tough on both ends of the floor.
