Northpoint Christian Lady Trojans: Season Preview

With me, I think of Greek Gods and Goddesses who went into battle to fight. I can see them vividly on these chariots, attacking the enemies as they ride down hillsides at a rapid pace and dust/sand flying up everywhere. I see a sword drawn ready to slay and…. Okay. I am being a little dramatic as if I was watching a Disney movie, but I will say that Trojans are mighty warriors who do battle.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fast forward to present day, the Northpoint Christian Lady Trojans are ready to do battle in District 6 as they go to war with their enemies on the hardwood. These young ladies are ready to put all their offseason hard work together, and go out and play against opponents. These ladies are equipped to battle on both ends, have the mindset to go out and win each possession, and are skilled enough to be one of the top teams in the district.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Under the direction of Coach Gray, these young ladies will bring a balanced attack to the hardwood. We all know offense sells tickets, but bringing the D wins championships. This squad got stronger in the offseason and their mindset shifted to be more dominant on the defensive end. Emphasis on being in a stance, gap help, boxing out to eliminate second chance opportunities, and flying around giving multiple efforts, were just a few key points of emphasis. This team has the identity of some hard workers. Hopefully this season their efforts will bring even more success.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Though on opening night they dropped their first game to Oxford 55-30, that doesn't mean anyone should panic. You are going to win some and lose some, but how you handle adversity is the telling sign of success. These Lady Trojans are in good shape and will make a run for the district crown. Look for them to rebound their next game and come out with a vengeance. This kid is a solid two-way player whose stock is going to rise this upcoming season. Her ability to play on both ends of the floor sets her apart from most. Look for her to be the leading catalyst for these Lady Trojans and help them propel themselves to victories. Will guard the other team's best perimeter player, slowing them down in the process. This kid is a leader and brings the juice and energy every single time she steps onto the floor. Look for her to have a great season as she gears up for her last ride as a senior.
