#11 – Having been on our radar for some time, Retzlaff has been competing at a high level for multiple years now. A top performer at the most recent AAU and high school state tournaments, Elin is a dynamic, physical guard with a real knack for putting the ball in the basket. Standing at 5’9, the Hillcrest Lutheran freshman has a strong, powerful build and the athleticism needed to compete at the Division 1 level. Relentlessly hard working with a tremendous basketball IQ and a robust grasp on the fundamentals of the game, Retzlaff’s poise, motor, and sheer impact has already made her a standout performer in Class A.

Following in the footsteps of a sibling has its pros and cons and comes with its own set of challenges, but Elin is more than holding her own. Another West Central United product, the 5’9 guard is multidimensional and gets it done at a high level on both sides of the court. Retzlaff (pictured above) is a knockdown catch-and-shoot threat and a bona fide scorer. On consecutive possessions, she grabbed the rebound, pushed the pace and went coast-to-coast, first finishing with a smooth Euro-step and her left hand, then coming back with a nice scoop layup on the right side. She guards with intensity and seems to genuinely enjoy herself no matter the result. You can bet a little sibling rivalry with Elsa Retzlaff Elsa Retzlaff 5'9" | CG Hillcrest Lutheran | 2028 State MN helps drive her, but Elin is talented enough to carve out her own lane in no time.

The Hillcrest Lutheran 8th grader has made plenty of noise in Class A basketball the past two seasons, proving herself as a high-level collegiate prospect. Retzlaff, a 5’9 combo guard, does it all. She’s quick, strong, crafty with the ball in her hands, and is an efficient three level scorer with a vast understanding of the game. Elin is a workhorse who brings a tremendous level of effort each time she steps on the floor. Poised and highly coachable, the West Central United guard is a college coach’s dream. Certainly a name to know in the Class of 2030.

Just a 7th grader last season, Retzlaff averaged 13.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.8 steals per game for Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls – an impressive stat line for any age but particularly for a first-year varsity competitor. The 5’8 guard is strong, confident, and plays with maturity well beyond her years. A capable three-point shooter and physical finisher, she attacks off the dribble, absorbs contact, and can defend both guards and posts. Retzlaff’s anticipation on defense creates turnovers that fuel her transition game. Also a volleyball and track athlete, Elin is already one of the top 10 prospects in West Central Minnesota and looks destined for big things.
