Defensively, Jordyn applies strong on-ball pressure and uses active hands to force turnovers. She also gets to the free throw line regularly and excels in drive-and-kick situations, creating opportunities for teammates.

Jordyn is looking like one of the finest true point guards in the entire class. Elwood is the type of facilitator that teammates love going to war with plus she’s a true extension of the coach. Lately, Elwood is looking a step faster turning the corner and making more dynamic plays in the second level of the defense. On the other side of the ball, Elwood stays connected moving lateral no matter the caliber of ballhandler. She also keeps her head on a swivel, which keeps her alert at all times. Overall, Jordyn just yields great results in her minutes.

A pg that serves as an extension of the coach, facilitates at a high level, distributes the ball evenly and processes concepts quickly. In today’s game sometimes offensive scoring prowess can be overvalued at times. A floor general like herself brings immense value to the cohesiveness of lineups plus she can be trusted to execute her assignment. Elwood has a great understanding of the game and when she’s on the floor, she elevates others’ play. There’s also level of high level of efficiency and poise shown that isn’t a common trait for freshman lead guards to have. Her defense has yet to be mentioned either. To be frank, most of what was written about her offensive approach can be said about her ability to guard too. Elwood makes solid decisions by keeping gambling to minimum. Not only that but she can cover gaps in help quickly and then recover promptly. With her continued overall ascension as a prospect, it won’t be long before many talking about Jordyn as the cream of the crop from the pg position.

Jordyn is a well-rounded point guard who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. She sees the court extremely well and consistently sets up teammates for easy looks, especially in transition, while also knocking down quick-release threes with a high arc over defenders. Defensively, she anticipates passing lanes for steals, and offensively she attacks the rim with strength and creativity, finishing through contact with either hand.

Jordyn isn’t just a highlight player. It’s the small things that make her such a striking point guard. Elwood doesn’t get riled up in intense moments and her steadiness while running the offense stands out. Jordyn’s hardworking efforts, particularly on the defensive end will be a contributing factor to getting St. Mark’s a victory. In tomorrow’s matchup vs. Hoosac, she’ll be heavily tested going up against one of the best scoring guards in NEPSAC. If anybody is up for the challenge though, its Elwood. Her defensive instincts are top tier, especially for being such a young player.

Elwood is the point guard most would want on their squad. She advances the ball quickly in transition, sets up teammates ideally within the halfcourt, plus Jordyn consistently feeds the bigs. Evenly distributing the ball allows for the offense to just flow so much better with her on the floor. Not to mention, Jordyn gets after it on the defensive end too. She takes pride in stopping opponents each possession. The overall level of production from Elwood make her the #1 pg in the class.

Jordyn is a polished facilitating point that’s a force of an offensive initiator. She uses hesitations and makes the most of well-crafted angles to make plays for others as well as herself. Elwood is also very proficient using screens. Usually calling for bigs to come high to create the most amount of spacing as she squeezes around tightly, forcing the rolling defender to make a hard decision. Elwood puts pressure on the backline of the defense and compels them to react. Jordyn has topnotch passing skills too, so she’ll find the open teammate in no time. The pure point instincts are what truly make Elwood such a significant prospect within the class.

Elwood brings so much to the table as playmaking point guard. She has expectational positional instincts and contributes to winning plays on a consistent basis. Not prone to a lot of turnovers even through a primary ballhandler either; Elwood is quite efficient with the ball in her hands. The passing and ability to break down the tough defenders all while having an overall command of the offense makes her a significant ingredient to her team’s success. Jordyn can thrive in any style of game as well as any tempo. Her all-round ability flourishes in just about any scenario.

Elwood received 4% of the votes. The freshman captain has been tremendous as a first-year starter and leader. Jordyn is an extension of the coach on the floor, plus she makes her teammates better. She’s consistently putting them in position to be successful. The offense is initiated on another level with Elwood on the floor, the ball also flows much better with her as the lead guard on the floor. Theres also no waisted movements with Jordyn either; she’s a straight-to-the-point type of pg that can be resourceful in a pinch. The natural 2-way ability demonstrated this season has made her an important figure in Plymouth County.

Whenever do the words “freshman” and “captain” go together? Elwood is the rarity here. The ’28 guard has been providing essential playmaking for the Vikings all season. Jordyn has been showcasing her exceptionally efforted play that’s been absolutely infectious with her teammates. She plays the right way and that’s been highly rewarding her year in her first season. The young point guard was just recently named a MAC All-Star, an expectational honor for a freshman. Expect Elwood to climb the nearing rankings after such a successful campaign early in her career.
