One of the top scorers in the state Janiyah can fill it up from everywhere and anywhere. She is a three-level scorer that does a lot of everything for her high school team. She scored 760 points this season as a sophomore; averaging 30 points a game. She also is solid on the defensive end snagging the ball four times a game. Boyd will be someone to look for on the national stage as she continues to mature.

Scoring is not a problem at all for this young player. One of the top scorers in the state. She is a three-level scorer and also a solid defender. Janiyah definitely has not gotten the recognition so far that she deserves. This kid can play! Janiyah has a high motor and normally a smile on her face that makes her even more enjoyable to watch. She will move off the “watchlist” and move up in the rankings.

This kid has a high motor on both ends of the court. Defensively, she makes plays because she is constantly hounding the ball hander. Her deflections and steals result in transition points. Offensively, she is quick and gets downhill. Janiyah definitely knows how to score on her attacks but she also creates a lot for her teammates with her court vision and ability to attack. She always looks like she is having fun on the court. Boyd attends Monroe High School in Monroe, NC and they will go as far as she carries them.

Boyd has already shown herself as an elite guard in the 2028 class. She is a true three level scorer and attacks downhill with force. Her high IQ is shown through her creativity when getting others involved. Her dominance during her freshman year turned heads as she set a Union County scoring record with 53 points. With the combination of scoring, strength, and playmaking Boyd is quickly becoming one of the breakout athletes to watch.

Boyd is quickly establishing a profile that is growing far beyond the confines of North Carolina. In the 22 games she played last season at Monroe, Boyd solidified her place among the statewide – and national – 2028 conversations. Between her ball handling, scoring, passing, rebounding and defense, Boyd is showing indications that she is just getting started. At times, the word “special” can be thrown around a bit loosely, but it is a superlative that fits when Boyd is the topic of conversation. She averaged 32 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 4.3 steals and 1.6 blocks per game. Monroe is moving up from 2A to 5A this season. 

Boyd makes positive plays happen on the court. She is a dynamic freshman guard who drops over 5 assists per game to her teammates. Boyd is also a tremendous rebounder who attacks the glass, grabs a rebound, and starts the fast break. She is an unselfish player who always has her head up in transition looking to pass ahead. Currently, Boyd leads her team in assists, points, steals, blocks, and she is second in rebounds per game for the Redhawks.
