2028 Basketball Class: Rising Stars to Watch

People tend to forget that these young ladies are just freshmen and what they are doing is pretty impactful. Back when I was in school, you rarely saw freshmen see the court as early as these girls do. You either played freshman ball or JV and prayed you dressed varsity. Nowadays, you get freshman starting, freshman up for big time accolades, I mean things are definitely different from when you and I played.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As you look across the landscape of the state within this class, you have a bunch of girls who can flat out play. Each kid brings something to the table and what they do impacts the game in some shape or form. Their body of work helps propel their prospective ball clubs and as they learn the game and get comfortable doing so, they become more impactful, leaving their mark as they compete. She has a sweet lefty stroke that finds the bottom of the net at a consistent clip. She can put it on the floor and finish, coming off screen, creating her own shot, anywhere on the floor, she's confident to let it fly. She has stellar D, getting hands on balls, leading to transition buckets. This kid is active on the defensive end, creating fast break opportunities by the bunches. In half court sets, she can get downhill and finish, or unleash it from the arc with confidence. She is going to find a way to impact the game by doing the little things that puts her and her teammates in favorable positions. You can tell she loves the game, by the way she carries herself. Her attitude is infectious and between her and her twin (the girl who I wrote about above), they will be having South Gibson in state contention for the coming years. This young lady comes into the game with one mission, that's to neutralize the opposition. She is there to make your life chaotic, by locking you up on the defensive end. She has crazy good speed, can keep any player in front, add her ability to poke balls away and get deflections, yeah she's that girl. She can score on multiple levels, but please believe she prides herself on the defensive end. This kid has been putting in work around the blocks. She has a nice mid-range game with her ability to finish down low, but how she establishes her presence down in the interior is crazy good. She is a work in progress, someone who has a nice arsenal of back to the basket moves. Look for her to continue to grow and be a solid two-way player for the Lady Raiders over the next coming year. She can put it on the floor, incorporate a step back shot, long story short, she can find the bottom of the net from multiple spots on the floor. She is a hungry ballplayer who is always up for a good competitive fight. She is going to give you her all and then some, making an impact along the way.
