She has a hand in everything they do. Her defense on the perimeter leads to live-ball turnovers. She can make shots at a respectable clip and create off the dribble. Julka is a perfect fit next to kids like herself, and her fit next to Donaldson is perfect. Donaldson is their best offensive threat, and Julka knows how to play off her.

Hafner is a ball of energy when she steps onto the floor, and she's someone people would enjoy watching. She flies around the floor, gets downhill, and isn't afraid of contact. Hafner will come off the bench, defend the other team's best backcourt player, and be like a gnat and hover around her defensive assignment. She made some excellent plays around the rim and helped her Xavier team get back into the game on the road against reigning D3 state champion Edgewood.

After a half where Memorial trailed La Follette, the Spartans flipped a switch in the second half, and Blue was a significant aspect of the dominance in the second half. She was solid in the second half as a creator, finishing that game with four assists and consistently forcing defenses to come out and defend her at the three-point line. Her spacing allowed kids like Nwachukwu, Martin, Jackson, and Harden to play around the basket with one less pair of hands swiping at the ball, which is sometimes all you need. It was a second-half demolition by the Spartans.

You can't teach someone to be 6'2 and have touch, but that's what Dye is as a player. She's been coached well by whoever's had her. Watching her catch and keeping it high to finish allows her to control games, like the one against Mount Horeb, where her defender was about half a foot smaller than her. Dye finished her excellent performance 50 miles from home with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Dye is a name for regional scholarship programs to keep tabs on over the next year or so. She's likely a volleyball kid, but who knows.

On Monday, we'll have the first edition of the 2028 class rankings up, but before that, I'd like to take a quick pit stop and highlight uncommitted/unsigned players I watched this past week who played well in games I attended.
