Chyanne Brown Chyanne Brown 5'10" | SF/PF Valparaiso | 2027 IN continues to establish herself as one of the more versatile and dependable wings in Indiana’s 2027 class. Throughout the AAU season, Brown consistently impacted games in a variety of ways and showed why she belongs in statewide rankings conversations. What stands out most about her game is her ability to contribute on both ends of the floor while playing with toughness and composure. She does not rely on just one aspect of her game to be effective. Instead, she finds ways to impact winning through scoring, rebounding, defense, and hustle plays.

Offensively, Brown showed the ability to attack downhill and finish through contact while also making smart decisions with the basketball. She has a good feel for spacing and knows how to move without the ball to create opportunities for herself. Her mid-range game continues to improve, and she showed confidence knocking down perimeter shots when defenses collapsed into the paint. Brown also plays with good pace and rarely forces action offensively, which allows her to remain efficient throughout games.

Defensively, she was one of the more consistent competitors at her position this spring. Her length and activity allow her to defend multiple positions, and she rebounds the basketball well for a wing. She competes hard every possession and consistently brings energy that impacts her team beyond the stat sheet. She was listed on the Saturday standouts, but was scheduled to make the all-tournament team. She was on a pretty solid team and showed a lot of great work ethic. As I mentioned before, I love her physical style of play, she protects the paint on defense, while on offense, she can play inside or out.

While Valparaiso has a talented Senior backcourt, they haven’t been blessed with size or depth the last couple of seasons, so Chyanne has gotten a lot of opportunity at the Varsity level to play and develop through live action. She is a strong, physical forward who can play inside or out. She has some ball skill and likes to push in transition, even initiating the offense from time to time. In the halfcourt, however, she looks most comfortable in the mid-post, where she’s able to use that physicality to attack the basket/boards and to defend.

Chyanne is a rugged, almost powerful wing forward who likes to play with some physicality. She’s also very versatile because of her combination of size, strength, and skill. She has a solid handle, she can knock down the occasional rhythm jumper, plus she can initiate the offense. She has seen some early minutes in her career at Valpo, and if she can improve her lateral quickness a bit, especially defensively, I think she’ll have several interested colleges.

Chyanne moves well for her size and has a ton of skill to go along with it. She was very active on the boards and had multiple put back buckets. She is a willing-passer that can really thread the needle. I like that level of passion she played with and her ability knock down shots from 3. Also had a nice face-up jumper in the post.
