Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I play team first and try to do everything I can to help the team win. I look to play defense, hustle and hit the floor, box out, move the ball and help communicate to keep the team playing together. On offense, I look to attack the paint , get to my midrange shot and take 3s when open. I enjoy setting screens and setting up my teammates for open shots. I like to play in the flow of the offense.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I'm friendly, funny but know when to be serious, and easy going. I'm usually the team mom and take players/classmates under my wing. My teachers would say I'm opinionated and I can self-advocate while also helping others. When it comes to basketball, I work as hard as I can so I can be the best I can be. I spend my free time watching documentaries, videos, and as many games as possible.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I play the saxophone in band and I am section leader, play soccer, and swim on a club team. I also work with my dad's landscaping business when I can so I can learn about business and finances.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Over the last few years, my leadership skills have developed quite a bit. I have been captain of my school soccer and basketball teams the last 2 seasons. Being a great teammate, looking out for the younger players, and helping everyone get along on and off the court are things I love doing.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I have had my struggles adjusting to middle school but have figured it out while taking high school math classes and earning honor roll this year. I have not always been the best player or the most athletic so I've learned to work hard to get what I want on and off the court. I also have 2 younger siblings so learning to be a big sister after being an only child for a long time was a challenge.
What type of college are you looking for?
For my future career, I'd love to be a veterinarian and one day own my own practice and animal shelter. So a school that offers that degree path as well as business classes and a strong basketball program would be ideal. Warm weather would be a bonus!
