Breaking Down the Rankings for the Class of 2020

With the release of our latest 2020 rankings, the future and quality of talent across the state for this class looks to be in good hands. A number of players shot up our list from the previous edition as they have made their mark on their teams this season. We have seen some excellent performances from some of the top ranked players in this class already this season, and we can’t wait to see what this bunch has in store for us down the road and for years to come. Below is a break down of our latest ranking update to the 2020 classes. As always, Prep Girls Illinois will continue to track and follow the state’s top talent and stay up to date on players who deserve and earn a boost up the rankings as they continue to take shape. Stay tuned &nbsp; <strong> The Top 2</strong> The 2021 class is loaded at the top portion of our latest rankings with players who have an assortment of tools in their respective games. Starting with our #1 ranked player, <strong>Taylor Gugiluzza (Lincoln Way West)</strong> , Taylor is one of the best scoring guards in the country and proved that while playing on her Lincoln Xplosion AAU team this summer againist national competition . We look to hear her name time and time again come up in the conversation for Player of the Year, MVP and All -State honors . <strong>Haylee Douglass </strong>from Lake Forest HS is slotted in the number 2 spot for this ranking level. Haylee is terrific player who understands and plays the game light years ahead of her age level. At 6'2 and playing the Point Guard position she has shown everyone who has watched her play that she can lead her team, make great decisions with the ball and score from anywhere on the court. Douglass received attention on a National Level when attending the USA Basketball Trials and Adidas All American and we look forward to watching her lead a very talented Lake Forest squad during the high school season. <strong>The Next 20 -The Commits and The Offer's</strong> The Top 20 of the Class of 2020 has many talented players either already committed to a D1 program or have they received numerous offers and are still weighing their options as their junior year begins. <strong>The Committ's </strong> <strong>Sycamore's Kylie Feuerbach</strong> <strong> </strong>(#5  Iowa State University  Long and Athletic Wing Player who wants the ball at crunch time<strong> )</strong>, <strong>Lake Park's Darrione Rogers  (</strong>#7 Depaul University Combo Guard/Wing with a lightening 1st step that sets up her scoring at the rim and in the mid-range ) <strong> Brooke Schramek  (</strong>#9 University of Wisconsin Physical All Around Wing Player with a knack for making big time plays), <strong>Montini's</strong> <strong>Sydney Proschaska</strong> (#12 Southern Illinois University Combo Guard who is an excellent outside shooter/scorer) and <strong>Walther</strong> <strong>Christian's Kalvina Eubanks</strong> (#14 University of Milwaukee Athletic Wing Player who plays well in the mid -range and rebounds well for her position) <strong>The Offer's </strong> <strong>Angela Dugalic</strong> (#4 Maine West), <strong>Kate Bullman  </strong>(#8 Grayslake Central), <strong>Amber Storr </strong>(#10 Kankakee) and <strong>Lindsey Rogers</strong> (#18 Benet Academy)  are all tremendously talented players that have received multiple D1 offers and have yet to decide on a school. <strong>The Strength of the Class - The Depth #50 -#100</strong> Since our first rankings that came out in the Spring , The Class of 2020 has added more talent to an already long list of players to create a deep list of talent with a variety of skills. Five players that fall in between #50 to #100 on the rankings that you will certainly hear more about through the High School and AAU seasons are guards  <strong> Ashley Berry (#57 Guard Benet Academy) and Mandy Mein (#70 Streamwood) and Forward/Posts  Abby Bair ( #54 Freeport Aquin )  and Susannah Holifield (#66 Rolling Meadows) and Katie Lach (#80 Carmel Catholic)  </strong> . These players have the opportunity to help their High School teams make deep runs in the state playoffs this winter while they continue to improve their skills that will get college programs attention over the next 12 months. &nbsp; &nbsp;
