Pennington had a solid sophomore season last year, and now she is ready to take the next step. She is a monster post defender who made her presence felt down low. One of her best defensive performances was against Searcy in February, recording 5 rejections to go along with her 8 points and 9 boards.
Batesville’s center has excellent defensive instincts. The timing on her blocks is impeccable, making sure to send the shot into the stands, but without fouling. With her stature and long arms, no one in her conference can shoot over her successfully.

At 6’2″, not many defenders would be able to succeed in blocking her shot. The defense and the rebounding are already stellar, but if she establishes herself as a reliable scoring option who can go to work on the block, there is no reason why she is not a top-50 player.
