Alexa continues to improve her game. This weekend, she showed that she can read rim protectors very well and was comfortable finishing through contact. She consistently showed that she can make winning transition decisions. She recognizes trailing shooters. Alexa has a strong motor. She shows she can punish poor closeouts and attack the rim when she sees the opportunity. She showed excellent timing in entering gaps on the floor. She has very good offensive instincts. Without the ball, she moves with intention, instead of just running. She has excellent off-ball activity.y

Longmire showed why she has a chance to become a very good player in Arizona over the next few years. She has a good feel for the game and looked comfortable making plays with the ball in her hands, but what also stood out was her ability to play off the ball. That versatility should let her fit into different lineups and keep expanding her game.

Alexa was solid at this past weekend’s tournament. Alexa shows that she has a good touch of the basketball from 5-10 feet away from the rim. She appears comfortable using both of her hands when dribbling. She appears comfortable relocating to a different position when she is not the primary ball handler. She creates quality spacing in the process. Her constant movement as an offensive threat improves her team’s overall offensive efficiency. Alexa maintains good vision while changing directions. She appears to value every possession of her team’s offense. When she attacks the paint, she has a good ability to avoid exposing the ball. Alexa makes instinctive winning plays.

Longmire has been making a name for herself with her all-around play, especially on the defensive end. She competes, gets after people defensively, and has a chance to make an immediate impact for the Colts this season.

Alexa is fun to watch. She is very fast and plays with a high motor on both sides of the ball, which is one of her biggest strengths. She has a very high basketball IQ for being a young player. She is very aggressive and unafraid to attack gaps in the defense. She can shoot from the perimeter and create her own shot inside the paint. Defensively, she plays with tenacity. She is not afraid to compete and do the dirty work for her team that may not show up on a game’s stat sheet. Alexa is tough, and that explains why Casteel will be a threat and a contender moving forward.

Longmire emerged as a guard to keep an eye on. She showed good poise and high basketball IQ despite only being a freshmen. A combo guard who can score from all three levels and with playmaking ability to impact the game. With continued growth and development, Longmire is establishing herself as one of the top prospects in the 2030 class.

Longmire’s length and activity popped. She attacked downhill offensively and applied consistent pressure defensively with quick, disruptive hands. She will be an immediate contributor defensively when she steps on a high school campus.

She showed the ability to handle the ball in pressure situations, and she also showed that she was not intimidated by the magnitude of the event. She is a very good shooter for her age and she can score on all 3 levels. She can play multiple positions and only time will tell which position she ultimately plays. She can defend multiple positions as well and she has good speed and athleticism for her age.
