Fresh Faces: 2029 Guards Pt.1

Each year a class graduates and that opens the door for some new faces into the ranks of high school basketball. The freshman class of 2029 in the state of Missouri has already shown tons of promise already. These "Fresh Faces" articles will cover some of the top freshman to keep an eye out for in the greater Kansas City, MO and surrounding areas.      A high energy, high intensity, high motor guard that leaves it all on the court every game. Very physical and hard nose defender. She rebounds well for a guard and is constantly in the passes lanes getting deflections and steals. Solid ball handler that has the ability to go either direction off the bounce and finish in and around the paint. Riann has great vision and understands when to make the extra pass and when to look for her own opportunities.       Extremely athletic guard with great speed, and quickness. Plays with great energy, impressive poise and a level of confidence you don't see in young athletes. She's confident with ball and wants it in her hands at key moments, a sharp shooter for the midrange and deep. Has a very quick first step that allows her to blow by defenders and finish in close. Active defensively, and is always around the ball causing disruptions.       Branch is a tough point guard has as good feel for the game. Plays with a high motor and brings a level of effort and intensity to go a long with it. She has good distributing and scoring albites. Shows very good handle which allows her to get to her spots for open looks or to create for her teammates. Brielle shoots the ball pretty well from the midrange and from beyond the three point line and does not shy away from letting it fly. She's a really good on ball defender that does not shy away from any challenges that come her way.       Elise is a speedy guard that can play both spots. She has great vision and IQ which allows her to make high level plays any time she has the all in her hands. Mccauley has as really good feel and understanding of the game. Passing is just one good aspect of he game, she also can score it. She has a good handle and also is able shoot it from long range.       Good sized point guard with long arms, which come in to play a ton on defense helping her get a ton of steals and deflections. Cruz is a very fundamentally sound guard that handles it well with both hands and is pretty savvy and creative off the dribble using in and outs, and hesitations to gain advantages. She finishes well around the rim and displays good jump shooting ability. She's a phenomenal passer with great vision and play making skills.
