2022 adds more from across the state

2022 adds more from across the state

The definition of repetition is "the action of repeating something that has already been said or written" so when I use " it's not what you do, it's who you do it against, somehow many just don't and never will get it". Over the years, Texas has consistently had around or over 100 D1 signees, most were legit yet there has been and always will be some who are overlooked, that's just the nature of the system yet I try and head out to see as many players as possible because credibility means a lot to me as far as getting it right because always remember that "talent is definitely everywhere" and many players showed they belong so I've added a few more to the 2022 Watch List which actually means watch how the list changes as more players are seen Jahcelyn Hartfield (South Grand Prairie) bedazzled me over two years ago, this is why rosters are important and her athleticism just blends in nicely with her squad. She plays the passing lane, defends baseline to baseline yet she also creates off the dribble nicely but that first step I spoke about is on the verge of being devastating because once she gets by you, she has options galore on offense Lexi Alexander and Alex Neimeth (Cedar Ridge) both continue to impress me with their progression. Alexander with her college-ready body continues to show she can get ti done inside and outside, that range keeps extending as well her rebounding on both ends as she extends off the ground. Neimeth has come into her own, doing things that don't show up on the scoresheet yet she still manages to be around double digits but her poise and wanting the ball in the clutch and unlike my mail carrier, she delivers timely [caption id="attachment_125941" align="alignleft" width="114"] Hannah Nicholas[/caption] Hannah Nicholas (Houston Christian) explosive first step, athleticism, handles the ball under pressure and can finish, with contact, all you have to do is just add that up but the intangibles like body control in the air and changing direction under control have to be understood just what type of tools she possesses. She also creates her shot off the dribble, the midrange is consistent and fluid Kylie Minter (Clear Springs) put one of the best scoring exhibitions I've seen this season at the Texas Invitational and I'm talking about scoring and shooting and there's a big difference that I don't have time to get into but she gets into everything, on both ends. She can defend, she anticipates well on defense but her range is from NBA range. She can create her shot and attack the rim strongly while finishing the same way [caption id="attachment_114965" align="alignleft" width="111"] Kailyn Peters[/caption] Kailyn Peters (Waller) one more time, rosters are important and I didn't even realize I had seen her before Pass Tha Ball's The South but she goes both north and south and can mix a little east and west in it. Strong, physical, athletic and she's nowhere near where she'll be yet she's on the verge of taking it somewhere else. She has range, mid to long and can attack the basket easily over and over Yvonne Forman (Dekaney) her physique will definitely attract college coaches as well as her effort on the court because she is a battler that goes after everything, off the glass, on the floor, and in the stands, Her upside is strong and her progression will determine how high she goes at the next level but she's already at "the magic number" that's 6'0 and virtually assures next level play [caption id="attachment_135579" align="alignleft" width="97"] Allie Buchanan[/caption] Allie Buchanan (Lake Dallas) made a special trip just to see her after she left me somewhat speechless during the "club basketball" season. I saw her overpowering players in the paint a few months ago, hey, she too is at that magic number of 6'0, yet she showed me at the Lady Bulldog Classic something different and that was her facing the basket to score, mid to long-range. Plenty of upside, I'll keep you posted, she'll do more than post up Nyanna Robertson (Boswell) and Ly'taisha Jefferson (Trimble Tech) both put on shows for their respective teams at the MT Rice Tournament and here's a recap Here is the list, including add ons and those who moved up in 2022
