<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The class of 2030 is loaded with skilled and athletic players who will look to compete for time as soon as they enter the ranks of high school next year. Many of these young athletes continue to gain experience by understanding the value of hard work and being pushed out of their comfort zones, where true growth occurs. These articles will give a first look at some of the class of 2030 forwards and post to keep an eye out for.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Lilia Freeman, 5'9, Forward, East Trails Middle, Mokan Girls </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Freeman is a strong and powerful forward that is an absolute problem for any defender she's matched up against. She's a banger down low that can go through or over you. She's relentless on the glass on offense and defense, she blocks shots and shows good lateral quickness to be able to guard multiple positions. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Miliana (Mimi) Briggs, 5'8, Waldon Middle, KC Dream</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Briggs is a good sized forward with good great instincts and feel for the game. She shows good range and consistency shooting the ball from the perimeter. She handles well enough to take you off the dribble and finish through contact from either way. She's a good rebounder on both ends and shows the ability to be a force on the defensive in. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Terrion Davis, 5'10, New Mark Middle, Mokan Girls </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Davis is a solid forward who does most of her damage in the paint. She does a great job of working early to get good post position and then being patient and fluid when she gets it. She has good footwork and a soft touch to go along with he array of post moves. She's a great rebounder on both ends, ripping down boards effortlessly in and out of her area. Terrion also runs the floor well, which leads to easy baskets.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Maely Curtis-Thurkield, Lafayette County C-1 Middle, Mokan Girls </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Maely is a good-sized forward who shows a lot of versatility in her game. She plays the game with great energy and effort and does a lot of the intangibles you look for in a player. She's active on the glass on both ends and shows the ability to push it off the rebound in transition. She's very unselfish on the offensive end and shows good vision and the ability to find open teammates. She also shows the ability to score from inside and out.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
