Super 7: Southeast Raleigh vs. Millbrook (1/17)

The top two teams in the Cap7 Conference squared off on Thursday night as the Southeast Raleigh Lady Bulldogs took on the Millbrook Lady Wildcats. The Lady Bulldogs didn't waste any time jumping out to an early lead that grew by the quarter. After the first quarter, they led 15-6 then outscored really opened things up in the second quarter. The Lady Wildcats were stuck on six points until there was 1:51 left in the first half. They put up nine points and trailed 43-9 at the half. In the end, the Lady Bulldogs 74-37 behind solid performances from 2022 wing <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/bobbi-smith/">Bobbi Smith</a> </strong>and 2020s <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/anya-poole/">Anya Poole</a>, <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/jamia-hazell/">Jamia Hazell</a> </strong>and <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/destini-abramson-lee/">Destini Abramson-Lee</a>.</strong> <h5>2022 <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/bobbi-smith/">Bobbi Smith</a> - 5'10 - Wing - Southeast Raleigh</h5> <strong>Bobbi Smith</strong> stepped up big in the first half, scoring 11 of her 20 points in the first half against Millbrook. She made a 3-pointer and showed off her ability to run the break and get to the rim. She had a number of crafty finishes around the basket. She's <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/north-carolina/rankings/2022-rankings/">currently the No. 8 ranked prospect</a> in the 2022 rankings in North Carolina. <h5>2020 <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/jamia-hazell/">Jamia Hazell</a> - 5'7 - Guard - Southeast Raleigh</h5> The Southeast Raleigh backcourt has quite the playmaker in guard <strong>Jamia Hazell. </strong>Hazell finished with 13 points along with a number of assists, showing off her ability to get to the rim and make plays for others. She knocked down a 3-pointer in the first quarter and showed how she can operate off the dribble. She's the <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/north-carolina/rankings/2020-rankings/">No. 5 ranked prospect in the 2020 class</a> in North Carolina. She'll be quite the addition at James Madison next season. <h5>2020 <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/destini-abramson-lee/">Destini Abramson-Lee</a> - 5'9 - Guard - Southeast Raleigh</h5> <strong>Destini Abramson-Lee</strong> is an unsigned senior with quite the skill set for the Lady Bulldogs. Abramson-Lee is a crafty guard that can get to the paint and make tough passes in space. She made a number of plays for others off the bounce that caught my eye. She finished with eight points on two made 3-pointers all in the first half, showing how effective she can be without scoring the basketball. She's the <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/north-carolina/rankings/2020-rankings/">No. 14 prospect</a> in the 2020 class in North Carolina. <h5>2020 <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/anya-poole/">Anya Poole</a> - 6'2 - Forward - Southeast Raleigh</h5> <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/anya-poole/">Anya Poole</a> </strong>is a forward that can really get up and down the floor. She finishes strong in the paint and is an active paint presence with her length. She's the <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/north-carolina/rankings/2020-rankings/">No. 3 ranked prospect in the recent PrepGirlsHoops 2020 rankings</a> in the state of North Carolina and headed to the University of North Carolina next season. She finished with eight points after sitting much of the first half with two fouls. <h5>2021 Reiven Douglas - 5'9 - Guard - Millbrook</h5> <strong>Reiven Douglas</strong> led the way for the Lady Wildcats with 13 points in the contest. She came out a bit flat in the first half but played a lot looser on offense in the second half. She's a guard that's learning how to operate out of the pick-and-roll well. As she learns to make better decisions and trust her teammates, she'll be one to keep an eye on in North Carolina's 2021 class. <h5>2023 <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/reychel-douglas/">Reychel Douglas</a> - 5'11 - Guard/Wing - Millbrook</h5> While only a freshman, <strong>Reychel Douglas </strong>is a prospect with quite the upside at Millbrook High School. The younger Douglas scored Millbrook's first three points of the game but her youth showed against the veteran-led Southeast Raleigh Lady Bulldogs. She finished with 10 points for the Lady Wildcats. As she learns to control pace and improves her ball-handling, she'll be quite the player in a few seasons. She's currently the <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/north-carolina/rankings/2023-rankings/">No. 1 prospect</a> in North Carolina's 2023 class. <h5>2021 Keanna Rembert - 6'1 - Forward - Millbrook</h5> Keanna Rembert is a mobile forward that is an active defender in the paint. She battles down low for rebounds and position in the post. She finished with nine points for the Lady Wildcats despite the result. She competed all game despite fouling out in the end, but she's another 2021 prospect to keep an eye on for the Lady Wildcats alongside Reiven Douglas.
