<h4>Question</h4>

<h4><strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/maya-barakat/">[player_tooltip player_id="126260" first="Maya" last="Barakat"]</a></strong></h4>
It’s feels awesome being committed to U of M - Dearborn, it’s a dream come true!! Since I was a kid I’ve dreamed of playing college basketball and this is an amazing opportunity for me, i cannot wait to be a Wolverine!
<h4>Question</h4>
What made UofM - Dearborn the right choice for you?
<h4><strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/maya-barakat/">[player_tooltip player_id="126260" first="Maya" last="Barakat"]</a></strong></h4>
Not only is it a great university where I will be getting a good education to prepare me for my career, I’ll be playing basketball under an awesome coaching staff with a great group of girls. It’s also very close to home where I’ll still be able to live home, during the recruiting process that was a huge factor for me.
<h4>Question</h4>
What are you most excited about as far as college basketball?
<h4><strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/maya-barakat/">[player_tooltip player_id="126260" first="Maya" last="Barakat"]</a></strong></h4>
I’m most excited about meeting and playing with new people. I’m also very excited about playing with and against some of my former high school and AAU teammates.
<h4>Question</h4>
Who is the toughest player that you’ve ever matched up with?
<h4><strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/maya-barakat/">[player_tooltip player_id="126260" first="Maya" last="Barakat"]</a></strong></h4>
The toughest player I’ve had to match up against would probably be my sophomore year when I had to play against <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/jeanae-terry/">[player_tooltip player_id="22324" first="Jeanae" last="Terry"]</a>. My sophomore year i had to guard her man to man throughout an entire district finals game. It was definitely a challenge because she’s a great player but it was a fun and exciting challenge.
<h4>Question</h4>
What would you tell a kid that wants to be as successful in the game as you’ve been?
<h4><strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/maya-barakat/">[player_tooltip player_id="126260" first="Maya" last="Barakat"]</a></strong></h4>
I’d tell a kid to continue to work hard and push through. There’ll be some ups and some downs but in the end the ups will always outweigh the downs...so no matter what happens continue to push through and work hard and everything will eventually come together the way you want it to.
<h4>Question</h4>
What’s your favorite gym to play in?
<h4><strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/maya-barakat/">[player_tooltip player_id="126260" first="Maya" last="Barakat"]</a></strong></h4>
My favorite gym to play in would be my high schools gym. There’s no better feeling then playing on your home court with your home crowd in front of your friends and family.
