Tuesday February 11th 2020, Milwaukee Rufus King faced Germantown at home in a much anticipated match-up. King came into the game at the top of the Milwaukee City- Gold conference. King has a 10-0 conference record, and a 12-6 record overall; with all of the losses against other top teams. Germantown is highly successful in their own right, coming into the game at the top of their conference, 12-1. Germantown has an overall record of 17-2. Germantown defeated Milwaukee King in a tough battle 73-63. Lets breakdown some of the standout players during the game: Khamya McNeal | Milwaukee King Leading the team is senior guard Khamya McNeal. She averaged 18.4 points coming into the match-up. During the game she brought out a wide variety of moves. She is a crafty guard with one of the better handles I've seen this season. A work horse on offense and defense, McNeal has incredible mental tenacity for her team. From her hesitation dribbles creating an easy layup to step back threes beyond the arc, McNeal was on for King. She finished the game with 17 points, 5 steals, 6 assists, 9 rebounds and 50% from the 3 point line. McNeal is committed to Syracuse University. Imani Colon | Milwaukee King The 5’3 senior guard stepped up big last night for the Generals. She came into the match-up averaging 9 points per game. She hit her season-high 16 points last night. Playing 32 minutes, Colon was a huge spark in keeping Milwaukee King in the game. Not only did she do well on offense, her defensive pressure was so impressive. Briasha Townsend | Milwaukee King The senior guard contributed so much during last night's match-up. Townsend's athletic ability shines on the court as she runs the floor well. She has a great first step to the basket and a nice pull up jumper. She knows her spots on offense and is very effective on offense. She finished with 9 points, and 4 steals for Milwaukee King. Kamorea Arnold | Germantown The freshman guard was the clear player of the game in Tuesdays match-up. She came into the game averaging 16.2 points per game and 5 assists per game. Last night Arnold dropped 21 points and 10 rebounds. As a freshman she plays with the most patience and poise I’ve seen this season. She is incredibly versatile and will take over a game at any moment. Arnold had 6 assists in the win over Milwaukee King. The freshman holds offers from over ten Division I colleges across the country. Jaelyn Acker | Germantown The 5’7 junior had a huge game in the win over Milwaukee King. Coming into the game, Acker was averaging 11.3 points per game. Last night she scored a game-high 24 points. She was 6-9 from the 3 point line and 9-14 from the floor. She has a great eye for her shot and gets herself open very well. She and Arnold work exceptionally well together. Acker uses her strength and size inside to crash the boards, grabbing 7 rebounds in the win. Natalie McNeal | Germantown The Saint Louis commit played a key role in the win over Milwaukee King. She is fundamentally sound and handles the ball very well. The 5’8 guard has been incredibly successful this season averaging nearly 19 points and 10 rebounds per game. She used her footwork inside to grab 10 boards last night. She sees the floor well, and after being pressured defensively by King she was still able to dish out 4 assists to her teammates. McNeal finished with 11 points for Germantown.
